I think replaceable inner caps are the way to go.

Fault with the outer caps are: a) Matt's seems to fall off every other game. b) once they're hooked its really easy to lose your mallet.

Pro's with the outer caps are: a) wear b) replaceable c) more customization in terms of lengths/widths?

The reason being that such penalties can/will put off league participation by making it encroach on personal lives too much. This is still just the first (and trial) season of the league. Which is why it's governed so loosely.

Since only us Zombies and DeBeauvior Townies have played all our fixtures, with the deadline being this past Saturday, I'm not going to release the next ones until most everybody else gets caught up.

... ie after the balls gone or just before it's arrived I wouldn't quible with, but if I'm in goal and someone hooks my mallet (whether I'm leaning on it or not) and the balls more than a bikes length away... that's not in the spirit... surely?

A bike's length is semi-useless. Plus it's too close for that kind of call. I can shoot the ball from outside the 'D' while Dale is swooping in on the goalie, if he hooks the mallet then I would say that is a maneuver within the play that is directed towards the ball

I'd say it depends on timing and where the ball is.

If the ball is nowhere near the goal and somebody hooks the goalies mallet, then no.

And people who are defending it as bike to bike, I think a fair response is to punch the individual in the face... rider to rider... it's fair...

they don't agree with me. the rolls is pretty good, the concor is better. generally i find san marco saddles a better fit (for me) than selle italia, as far as older saddles are concerned.

saying that, i do have two turbos going spare if anyone's interested, one knackered standard one (free) and one super turbo in decent condition (tenner).

BTW, Turbo saddles are the best!! (for my ass anyways...)
