There are always two sides to every story, these kinds of threads tend to be final/absolute without allowing the accused to put their side of the story over. They may disagree with the description of what went down, they may even agree with what went down, but even here there may be mitigating circumstances.
Well said T
Totally agree with you.
This thread should die tonight and never be resurrected again ........... fun for a day but should not be taken too seriously -
This thread is awful, just awful, mob justice at it's best.
If someone has a bad week or fucks up somehow or the Royal mail fuck up their delivery, how long does it take for them to get off your internet 'arseholes' list ?
There is no going back the named and shamed are to be pilloried at every opportunity forever by Crisp Crap ......... Chric Crap ...... Crap Chris

Hey i know both Graham and cicli-raffa and they are decent people.
Honestly mostly of you have no idea how much hassle selling online can be.
Example one:

......................................................................................
At least he lives in London :)Suggest you guys try to sell on eBay sometimes - start with a frame or a pair of wheels! :)
Totally agree with you ................ and it really hurts when an unwarranted neg comes your way .................

NOS is exactly as stated. New, Old, Stock. If in doubt, ask for more pics. You can't expect and 20+ year item to remain in pristinne condition.
Ahhh ha
but ..... they do and it is always best to make sure there is no confusion as to what the buyer thinks he is getting compared to your perception of what he should expect. -
well, i think that's wrong. there should be no damage, storage or otherwise! NOS is saying, found at the back of a warehouse, yes, but not damaged! NEW OLD STOCK - ie;, while it is old stock, it is still in new condition.
the more i think about it, the more it seems there is no grey area here. if i bought something NOS, i would expect it to be perfect.
Yep me too !!! NOS when I sell or buy means absolutely mint
If not mint, a clearer description highlighting any variance from mint should be made....
i.e. 85% ........... small amount of rubbing to rim edge due to storage etc ... accompanied by a picture.Ebay is very much a buyers market now

Not sure of your point Hacked?
£20-£25 is normally the average for shipping, are you suggesting that this is unfair on the vendor?
I'm happy to pay reasonable postage- and have in fact already paid that which the seller asked, I just feel that the extra (£70) they are now asking is unreasonable.
The point is
It is a bike fitted with ROD brakes
It is a challenge to dismantle and put back together
Are YOU able to do it?
The seller prob cannot dismantle it and it and is telling you the price he will be charged for shipping it complete in a VERY VERY big cartonDo you get the point I am making now or do I need to draw pictures ??? (joke)
Thinking about the size of the carton needed to put the bike in complete it would be around
2m X 1.25m X 0.8m -
Here is the new purchase in all it's glory, I thought £10.50 was a good price...
I agree that they are trying to claw back some cash as it went for a little less than they wanted it too- always thought that was what the "reserve" was for myself.
I have googled bike delivery, but does anyone have a recommendation for a company that they have used?
Not very generous of you is it ?
It is not easy to dismantle a rod brake set up and..... surprise surprise even harder to put it back together again. You could find yourself with a large heap of bicycle parts delivered to your door !!!
The poor guy has probably got his quotes back and just realised that it is the size of the carton that is the problem and the prices quoted to him are frightening.
Heres a suggestion ............... ask if he would mind breaking it down to 2 cartons, each as small as he can manage.
He can get the cartons for free from his local Halfords if he asks nicely.
One for the stripped down frame and the other for the wheels, brakes calipers and rods, Handle bars, seat and post, both mudguards and pedals.
Then to find a cheap reseller on ebay and get each shipped for around £10 per cartonBe sure to ask him to photograph the bike in detail and email the pics to you, to help with assembling it ..........................
And remember this .... he can always pull out of the transaction ....... it would not really be fair for you to neg him really would it ????
Sad news .........
Many, many of their - Levi's songs mark personal milestones for me and bring back good happy memories .
My words would be totally inadequate, I'll reflect with a smile
