you into gissing will? recently read the netherworld purely on my gran's recomendation and because it's set in the block where she grew up and where i now live.
picked up another one of his the other day... forgotten the name of it though.
the article didn't bother me really. neither does hugo. i don't read any paper anymore.
EDIT: being "into gissing" sounds filthy.

I'm a total sucker for great driving indie rock, and Summerteeth for me just ticks all the boxes, I have AM and Being There which definately get a listen every now and then but they don't seem to flow quite as well. I think I am going to listen exclusively to Wilco today.
Do you guys like Uncle Tupelo at all?
some of it. to be honest i've only got a best of. i'm not a big fan of jay farrar's voice. his later solo stuff is okay... bit straight down the line for me though. i like things a little wonkier. i'm a huge giant sand (and howe gelb in general) fan. smog also.

Summerteeth is my favourite Wilco album by a long way- it's fucking incredible!
it's the first one i bought so i have a real affection for it too, but to be honest i think i listen to being there, a ghost is born and YHF better. i love all the repetitive krautrock skronk on ghost, kidsmoke etc.
have you seen the "i am trying to break your heart" dvd of the making of YHF? it's pretty interesting.

Being There by Wilco... Their best record by far... Jeff Tweedy was God... Once...
damn right.
i listened to hotel yankee foxtrot yetserday. also amazing.
and i've got a real soft spot for a ghost is born... and to a lesser extent summerteeth.apparently the new album is more freaky-noisy experimental than the AoR of the last one. which i'm quite excited about. would love to see them play live with nels.
his blog's great if you're a guitar nerd (i am):

Sorry Al, maybe I was a bit impatient... Campag make crap headsets anyway... ;)
I owe you a beer...no worries joe. my fault really. i was just explaining to andyp. even if i had been more alert and spotted your messages in time to get downstairs to meet you then i would still only have a frame and headset for the new build so really it's not much of a set back. plenty of other parts to worry about before the headset becomes "urgent".
beer sounds good though. must get out to some more drinks and rides soon.
cheers,
al.

Finished the track bike for Good Friday as I originally planned, and finally got to ride it round the track at this mornings session. Its lighter than I thought it was gonna be, and the transmission makes no noise whatsoever, you'll never hear the bike coming, but you'll hear me huffing and puffing as I strain to pass before the finish line.
Got the frame from Jos and Keith @ Tour De Ville, don't know who made it, but its got a nice fork, and lugs, and has the number 6701 stamped on bb and track end, anyone who knows what it might be let me know.. Got it resprayed at Colourtech, as yellow on a bike isn't for me, I'd have liked it to have been a slightly darker purple, but the colours close enough..
So you get some before and after pictures. Plus it built up in its natural habitat Herne Hill.
I couldn't have done it without the help, support and generosity of many of the forum members, you know who you are and your help was much appreciated. Managed to build it for more than I wanted, but less than i thought it would be...

looks awesome dude!
also looks a bit like the "big purple one" from a box of quality street

awesome news! really glad you cane on here too.
i witnessed the aftermath of your misfortune from my office on the other side of the bridge. really relieved to hear you're back in one piece.
i still go through that junction every day and it's a real deathtrap for cyclists because of northbound traffic turning left across the bike lane onto embankment. it's even worse at the moment because if you manage to negotiate that bit without getting cut up, as you come off the bridge onto blackfriars road, you go round a blind corner to discover that the bike lane is closed off by roadworks requiring a very deft filter into fast moving traffic.
anyway. really super happy you're ok.

The palpable anger in Skully's reply made me chuckle.
