Back OT - I carry a feckoff great big Zefal HPX aluminium pump strapped under my toptube. This is because I'm fed up with making my hands sore trying to get crappyarsed little minipumps to bring my tyres back up to pressure when the Pu***ure Faerie visits.
I don't carry it as some kind of "rescue a roadie" service for people who are too cool to stash a pump in their jersey pocket. You've just spent three grand on a feckin' Colnago? Very nice - now go and spend a tenner on a decent pump, you poseur knobend.
[/rant]
I don't charge if people want to borrow my pump. But air is £1 a go.

I think that Hippy should threaten to lead a break away sub-forum and convince stalwarts such as Tynan and OnOneLangster (add in unfunny latest name here) to join this new sub-forum.
Resulting in a new two tier forum format for the 'aves and 'av nots. All the addicted forum nutters (loving that moniker by the way :) would then side with them. Uproar from the non-addicted community and calling in the mediators to bring sense and urgent need for a compromise.
Cue WiganWill to act as intermediary and bring some sense and calm to it all. Aided by GA2G, who will write up a list of pros and cons.
Ending in complete satisfaction for having a subscription.
Peace reigns, VB wins the nobel peace prize and everyone receives a free LFGSS sponsored Arrospok for Christmas (except Tynan who doesn't believe in Elves).

Yep! I will more than happily take them off your hands for 125.
No rush though. Pick up around 14th/15th would be fine. Just give me a shout when you're back. Thanks.Hippy Bump - Am off on holiday from Saturday for a week. So either tomorrow? Or week after next. Either way it's fine as I'm not in a hurry.

I recently decided to upgrade from clipped pedals to clipless, as i have no previous experience in either choosing them or riding with them i would really appreciate any advice or recommendations, i really like the look of SIDI Genius 5
Thanks, JAre they solely for on the bike or do you plan to walk around a bit in them? If it's just for the bike then road shoes are fine. But if you want to pop down the shops in them ;) Then my recommendation would be MTB shoes. Sidi Dominators FTW!

To me it just seems like disappointment that the first fix did not hold.but as I said that can sometime be the way it is with wheel depending on the initial damage.quote]Reckon this may be on the number.
I just think that my mate is agrieved as he bought the bike from them and has had to spend a lot more money getting it fixed, in quite a short space of time.

Cool. Thanks for the answers.
He bought the bike from them and had a problem with the back wheel (don't know all the detail) some time ago. Took it back in and the fixed it + derailleur and it came to £160.
Since he got it back he's ridden it twice and two spokes have come out. He took it back and explained and they said they'd do the repair for free and only charge for two spokes.
They've now contacted him and said they need to replace 8 spokes as the chain has, in their point of view, come off and hit them. This never happened. They also want to charge £30 for labour + 8 spokes.
I've no knowledge of the store and can't say wheels and wheel building are exactly a forte of mine. So, thought I'd canvas opinion and actual knowledge first before giving advice.

My mate appears to be getting the run around from these guys on a wheel that they were supposed to have repaired; which is now losing spokes and they want to charge him a small fortune to rebuild it.
Question is: Who's used them? Points of view, reputable? Know what their talking about?
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Handpresso ~ bicycle pump + expresso packet + hot water = expresso on the go? The nice design coupled with the hilariously suggestive french couple in a movie theater ad makes it worth checking out.
