Oh I didn't mean you getting it wrong, I meant me thinking I know exactly what I want and then a curveball like a suggestion of ECR/27.5 arrives...
I firmly believe it doesnt matter whe=at you do/don't know about bikes, or if what you ride is "good" or not if you feel its right for you. That feeling of being happy on a bike is awesome, I just want to get a bit of that back again...
In terms of disc trucker, not sure what size you are, but if you're a medium ogre then maybe this suitable..... seems to be a few lht and dlht about at the mo...

Sounds good enough in the lows, but what about higher speeds? You ever spin out to easy?
Happy with the ogre as 29 is fine for me. Most of my riding will be road, I just prefer the shape of mtbs than road going bikes. Had an old dawes sardar for years, from before surly made the lht let alone the disc version. I love it and cant get rid, I just struggle with getting comfy, even after a fancy retul fitting. All my eggs are in the ogre basket just now.. Hopefully not foolishly. Had a couple of karate monkeys in the past and liked them as far as i remember, and now I just want to get back to loving bikes again.

Ive been lusting after a troll for about 6 months and suddenly just realised that actually its an ogre I want..
Happened to be in London a couple weeks ago and popped into Brixton cycles and rode the troll and foolishly ignored the ogre.
That is a monster cassette right there. Have you loaded the bike up yet and had any further thoughts on a double?

The one I posted has an inner roller which is actually a dense foam. Great for certain things. The outer, has (or should have) a plastic inner with the knobbly coating on the outside, in the same way that the other brands have. Personally, I find the larger pointy knobbles on certain brands to be of no value at all, other than feeling kind of nice. For me, they don't do the job any better.
Certain brands will cost more because of the name. The type I posted is fairly generic, but whatever you buy, I would encourage you to get one with an inner roller as well as an outer as they have different uses. Perhaps pop to tkmaxx and have a feel as they always have some. As far as my experience goes, they are pretty much of a muchness, with a small degree of "more money means better". But as always, think about who you are (a regular Jo buying for occasional home use or are you equipping a gym?), and what you do (powerlifting like yukurin, or just riding your bike and stuff, getting a bit stiff/sore?), and go from there. Good luck and happy rolling.

As a motorist I wouldn't toot my horn to let a cyclist know I was there unless they're doing weird or dangerous things that make me nervous.
But motorists do it in Spain just to give you a heads up, and I quite liked it. To be honest though, it's only these new silent cars that would make me think it's a good idea. I mean, vehicles aren't generally too quiet to hear.
As a cyclist, horn tooting gets me riled before I even know who did it and why.
Nice that he was being considerate though.

Thames water leakline. 0800714614
Got to wait on hold a while normally, but it's worth doing. Though there's probably an internet way of doing it. Ive reported 4 leaks in the last week. Awful waste of water, and with this cold, it makes surfaces too scary no matter if you're on a bike or on foot or vehicle.
All paid.
Cheers.
