ha ha that is amazing. i mean amazing that some dum fuck built it then put it on the interweb, chump. maybe they were an ex pat who used to strip and rebuild their rifle with their eyes shut and one night thought they'd build a bike with their eyes shut, ya know, just too see if they could. they failed. in fact why isnt thison the epic fail thread?

i look on that site occasionally. i think its really hard to find a nice looking bike. i wish people would stop posting horrendous looking bikes on there. "this is my first fixie i just love the way it rides but unfortunately it looks gross. thought i'd share it with the world that i have no taste..."
sorry folks, i know taste is a personal thing but jeez, do they have to do it?

good sales technique. but nice one though if its really that bad i'll get the other stuff like you suggested.
the fact that the bb tool is octalink just means that the hole is bigger to accomodate the larger diameter of the larger axle, you can still use it normal square taper bb's too.... just for those that dont know.

i use time atac z freerides and when i go for a real angry ride or a long one i get my northwaves on and giveitsome. but the rest of thetime i use them with my trainers and i got my no handed skids down fine... but of you want real grip without straps its gotta be proper mtb pedals with spikey bits. whats more important, sweet and secure gripand peace of mind or the lines when you stare at your bike?
DMR V12s are not the best pedals.
true.
if you buy new pedals make sure the studs are a) replaceable - most are these days. b) the replaceable studs screw in from the bottom. its a little thing, but over time those pesky allen holes get bent and rusty and round and are a royal painin the ass to get out on the ones that go in from thetop. with the others, its a cross head screw from the bottom that doesnt get fucked so easy. details details.

cant open that on one page so dont know what it is but be aware that a front mtb hub is spaced narrower than the rear so you cant just fix cog to the disc mounts and chuck it in the back dops outs without bending the frame shut to take it. plus ifyou arerunningfixed how are you gonna get the tension right? a chain tensioner, mech? scarey.

bugger knew i forgot something. bike shops... great road shop, new open ,nice guy called mike runs it with his wife. its called strada. down on north street i think in bedminster, southville end. for mountain bikes my local choiceis psyclewerx on abbotsford road in cotham. bristol bike works on colston street is good. lots of 2nd hand stuff, they are selling more and more fixed stuff as thistrend is getting bigger. evans arent bad if you like shiney shops. fred baker alright too. good independants around. or alernativly folks on here have 2nd hand stuff as do some folks on bristol fixed so if you want something particular try these place first perhaps. plenty people got plenty stuff kicking around.
and anyone else in bristol.. say hello yea.

I met two guys form fixed Bristol....nice chaps without a doubt!
one was probably me.ha ha. or maybe not. however i am in bristol and there are a few riders around . check out fixedbristol and email the guys, alternatively pm me and i'll pass your details on. we a have a ride coming up end of july but are open to ideas. mostly an older crowd (older than me) but a good bunch. just like riding in our own ways really. there are some other folk i havent met yet, and to be honest, up until about 4 moinths ago i had seen onlt two fixeed riders in the last two years but now the fuckers are everywhere. we rode out last week and a man on a brown slangster didnt even nod when 5 of us went by, two waved to say hello... so make sure you say hello. i ride a bare metal frame with words on, a brooks saddle, risers and thomson layback, i nearly always have a short peak brown chord cap on and a brown/white bag. if you see me, shout. or head down to the old duke of an evening, nice jazz pub, free livemusic every night. i'm there mostly.
as for ratios, 42-16 for fun play bike, soon to change to 17 for moref fun, but my other bike will roll albeit slower up park street etc on 42-14 which i think is 80 inch. rugged.
oh and i ride rickshaws some weekends nights on whiteladies road. swing by to introduce yourself.
apologies for the shite spelling and typing, my keyboard is half fucked.

lemonds got mounts so should be fine. roll into your local bike shop and get the right one. if in doubt, get them to do it, so any problems they will sort it. as for the seatpost mounted one, its called an beam rack i think from a company called topeak. depends howmuch weight capacity you need but they are limited compared to a proper rack.
forget about clean lines, its your bike and you have to look at itthe most, if the rest of us hate it we'll just look away with a shake of our heads...
having said all that, i reckon most people would agree thaqt a pair of shoes, a laptop some spareclothes and lunch is no probs in a decent messenger style bag... get a good one, try if you can, load it with stuff in the shop. my crumpler will take loads but and heavy weight but the straps system is shite so maybe avoid that. oh and they are ugly but taste varies.

Nope. I'm trying to gain muscle because I'm a rather puny guy. I cycle everyday (fixed), go to the gym 3 days a week and then run on the non-gym days and eat carefully. My thighs aren't monstrous; I still look puny :(
sound like you are overtraining. weights, running and gym... everyday of the week. of course your muscles arentgettingbigger. you arent giving them time to over compensate. not just recover, but go past recovery into the growth stage. and maybe you arent pushing heavy enough weights. or you are doing too many reps.
any questions, dont ask A.S.D.F
sorry to hijack that for a minute... as you were.

There's a bike outside my office, a step-through girls Peugeot; no front wheel, brakes hanging off, no lock - is it fair game?
What do you lot think?
Would be good for the missus after a spray and with my old front wheel.
take it. give it a new life.
What if the bike is clearly abandoned (rear wheel gone, stays twisted, chain orange with rust), but it's firmly locked to a railing on a pavement? What are the ethics of removing the nice vintage lugged top bolt stem from it? (rest of the bike is shite).
take it , give it a new life.

if you ride quick you are gonna get a sweat on, bag, nobag, panniers, no panniers, whatever so like someone said take a towel, spare shirt etc and change at work. ride slower (?) will help but less fun maybe. above all, dont wear cotton tshirt unless you really want to hum...
or if you are like me, you hardly sweat at all, and on the offchance you do, you wont smell...

nooo dont ruin it.i want so hard to believe it real. next you'll be dropping the "aint no santa" line on me.
