On the car forum I’m on what is interesting is that the Reform voters to a man reject the far right/radical right label and claim they’re centre-right. Which at least shows they know that the BNP etc are “too far”, but also dreadful critical thinking skills/self reflection ability.

Being able to say “and this is my showman’s vehicle” has a certain appeal though.

Apparently you get called far-right if you dare disagree with anything that woke lefty lunatics (such as Sunak, one assumes) say.

You are identifying an issue- the lack of a centre right. In answer to your question of who to vote for who would be traditionally small c conservative the closest answer is the Lib Dem’s. Voting for the tories or Reform isn’t a vote for the centre, no matter what Andrew Neill et al pretend.

But- and this is I think key - as long as we let people maintain the fiction that the current Tory party are centre right the longer it will be before we actually see a party comfortably occupy that space.

^On a similar note I’m currently having a discussion with a chap (on a car forum) who is certain that Reform are centre-right and that the problem with the Tories is they’re far too left wing.

I have been challenged to go line by line through the Reform manifesto showing which items are explicitly far right.
