I find that it is best to send him a number (2/3) of blank texts before phoning him so as to warn him to expect the call. I usually start sending these at around 1am.

And mine! Just assumed that it was the distance between the two dropouts that was the issue.

You can either a) swap to a 9mm axle if it is a 10mm, or b) file the dropout.

I'd go with b personally- you will be able to do it very accurately if you are carefull.

Just file one side of each dropout, checking against a known reference point (i.e. axle) as you go.

How much are they too small by?

I'd just (if it is not much) slot the axle in, steel is quite a tolerant material.

To be honest those secure doors are only as secure as the weakest link- and that tends to be people.

If you are leaving the room and someone is coming in with a bike did you tend to hold the door open for them? If so that is the easiest way in the world to get through the security.

"Shoulder surfing" is what it is normally called, I've seen CCTV footage that you would not believe of people walking into secure areas behind someone else.

I've been going down a hill, not pedalling, at an indicated 32mph.

I then went down onto the drops and the speed rose to 38mph, still not pedalling.

Aerodynamics play a very large part.

And a big hill.

I've seen a maximimum speed reading on my MTB computer that I liked so much I took a photo of it.

The more cynical people out there ask whether I was going down a hill made of unshielded electrical drills/washing machines etc.
