So I have a favour to ask the hivemid...
I am learning some new tech and have built something with data around NFL coaching trees. I find most representations of coaching trees to be a bit bland and non-informative.
I have built this to be really flexible and I plan on adding in a ton of other information (team records, ranking, etc.)
But for now I basically have every coach at every position for every team from 1920-2023.
So...what would you like to know about coaching relationships? I am trying to work out some intelligent ways to query all of this to get some actual insights.
Thinking of @cornelius_blackfoot 's recent posts and tracking the % of minority staff members over time. Or tracking what franchises develop the most head coaches, etc.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

One for @Soul
This is a DEEP X & O investigation into the Cowboys / Packers game. You will learn a lot by watching this. I absolutely love Brett Kollmann's analysis and his Bootleg Football podcast is great. He is one to follow if you really want to understand the modern NFL.

I have just ordered a new PC so I can retire my old one for my son to use. He is dying to play fortnite with a mouse and keyboard. Aiming with joysticks, is, and always will be, bullshit. Coop BL3 will be pretty damn fun too.
Sniper Elite series was a random punt at Steam that has turned into an absolute blast. Sniping Nazis at 250m never gets old.
I am almost 100% on SE5 and just started playing SE4 now. I think it is the first time I have experienced de-evolving of the the mechanics by working backwards in a series. Interesting to say the least.

There has been more level headed analysis about this and Badgley is historically poor at longer distances. Below 50%. I think that changes things a little.
Good to see Ben Johnson returning - some of the deeper Xs & Os analyses about their scheme has shown what a good OC he is. The Eagles this year are a case study in working to keep OC / DC consistency.
Detroit is like Houston and STARVING for football success. I think Detroit are ahead of us on that curve and I really hope that they make the SB next year.

Fuck. What a season! Worst to top 8 is pretty fucking good.
Ravens were stout last night and it was tight until Q4. I watched the Raven play the Titans this year and they are a good, good team. No shame in getting beat by the MVP in his own home with the best team in the league behind him.
I am excited for next season! New uniforms too! I cannot wait for silly draft season.
@Soul - I have no idea how you didn't win that game. You can join me in the "We have a very good young QB Club." Chargers fans can join. No Jags allowed.
Detroit can get past the Bucs. I think the Bills will finally get the KC monkey off their back.
Lions / 49ers and Ravens / Bills would probably rank up there with the greatest sets of Conference Championship matchups of all time.

Holding out for a Lions Texans SB now
Stahp! Even I won't dream that big. (Yet)
If we make the SB I will fly back to watch it with my Dad. He saw the first ever game in the Astrodome (exhibition against the Mickey Mantle Yankees) and saw one of the last Astros games there with me. He listened to my work on the Rockets titles, and loved the Astros WS wins too.
Houston is a football town. Always had been. Always will be. A Texans SB? With my dad? I would not miss that for the world.

Packers have a better post season record at AT&T stadium than the Cowboys.
Texans have more post season wins than the Cowboys over the life of the Texans franchise.
Dan Quinn can safely be removed from HC considerations for the Seahawks.
Mina Kimes posted that being unable to beat McVey and Shanahan will cost him the job as the Seahawks play them twice a year.

I don't have immediate access to minority status data. So I would need a lot of info and I am not sure even if that information exists anywhere or could even be compiled.
I mean, Jim Thorpe (1920 head coach and one of the most remarkable athletes of the 20th century) was Native American. So even a blanket - "everyone before 1965 was white" would not be entirely accurate. But focused on the post AFL/NFL merger would be more attainable.
There are minority coaching fellowships though. It would be interesting to track to see if those have ever translated into NFL careers.
