the realization that I've become as much of as much of an aggressive wanker on a bike as I ever was in a car earlier in life...

I hate my car and driving in London but work occasionally demands it and having 2 kids makes it useful occasionally. I will say though that being able to drive does give you a better understanding of how to avoid accidents with motorised road users and perhaps a bit more awareness on the road. I'm going to get hammered for that aren't I!

What's the rear wheel spacing? 126 or 120mm and any chance of seeing the wear on the block/cassette.

Anyone who lives or works in the Hoxton street area needs to get down to "Howl at the spoon" coffee mornings outside the Howl at the moon pub (corner of Hoxton st. and Stanway st.) any weekday morning betwwen 7.30 and 10.00am for superb square mile coffee prepared lovingly by my mate James. Best coffee in the vicinity by a country mile and if you're lucky he might show you his pink bendy lo pro moser.... Get down there for good company, great coffee and some bike porn on show by him and other nerds in the area. Hopefully see some of you there.

It's a piece of not very shiny crap.

A friend of mine bought a new campagnolo pista crankset online.It arrived today amidst much excitement from him only to discover upon closer inspection that it has some fairly obvious defects. On the back of 2 or 3 of the spider arms, the sides next to where the chainring bolts go look like they've been filed badly or maybe machined badly whereas the other arms are smooth and square at the sides as you would expect. Anyone had any experiences similar to this with the modern campy pista crankset? (165) They came from cycling bargains.co.uk by the way.

My aunt used to swear by stinging her joints with stinging nettles for numbness and arthritis. Perhaps a bit medieval but it worked for me when my thumb went numb from bad hand positions. Your landlord sounds lovely.

went to the emirates tonight on my brother in law's season ticket( he's on holiday). I'm an Ipswich town fan myself and as a fan of a team going nowhere in a hurry, be assured that I am a genuine neutral.

 This is the poorest Arsenal side I've seen for a very long time. Sagna played well but that was it. Aimless sideways tip tap passing in midfield, hopeless final ball and looked fragile at the back when Udinese were on the break. Arsenal will struggle to make 4th this year and may well still bow out of the champions league. 
Still, it could be worse: You could have got rolled over at home 5-2.

It was always coming. Rode past a nasty accident on Omaha beach aka St Pancras Intl/King's X - a cyclist had catapulted head first into the windscreen of an enormous tourist coach.
Wonder if it was that mega pot-hole that lurks menacingly in the middle of the road just by the main taxi-rank? We should lobby the powers that be to make it safer for cyclists, I've been riding that route for 4 years and had a real 'there for the grace of god' moment this morning.

Probably the BB shell (The frame). If you have a cheap frame, this will happen. Can also happen if you haven't installed the BB properly and then stressed it while trackstanding or skidding.
