skipping, and skidding. These things take a little time to learn. Def ride with both brakes at first, when you feel comfortable, take off the rear, and then the front if you like (though i would keep the front indefinitely).
First thing you need to do IMO is buy an 18 tooth rear sprocket.
48:18 is about 72 gear inches, which is generally considered about right for city riding, skidding skipping etc. My knees wouldn't last long brakeless on 48:15.

i feel that maybe you should have brought a grey hybrid instead of a fuji track.

1. buy a brake
   
2. buy a new rear spocket (19tooth if you want to skid lots and not go fast, or 18tooth if you want to go a bit faster).
   
3. leave chain ring and bottom bracket alone.
   
4. get a bike shop to change your spocket as you really don't have a clue - they'll do it for a fiver.
   
5. buy a brake

used step through ladies Raleigh frame, measures bottom bracket to seatpost - 22.5inch.

wear and tear but no noticeable dings in the frame. does not come with forks.

pick up in e8 near london fields.

small fee is also likely to keep the rif-raf out. i'm down with it.

also i really like the hill next to buckingham palace on the way up to wellington arch (hyde park corner); there's a great strip of really smooth tarmac in the middle of the road where you can really open up - great.

i would say hold out until the end of the season if you can....the prices of bikes at the moment is a bit crazy. ex-demo bikes are only going for 15% off when at the end of season you'll get 30-40% off. so, if you can, put your money in a savings account, htfu and ride fixed all summer, then get a much better bike towards christmas and come out firing next year. also you may be able to save more cash and get something better - 660 ain't enough for road bike you need 1200ish.
