Perrys Cycles Woolwich is a good shop fair prices even sells his own bikes, proper family run joint with knowledgeable people.
I've been going here for years - they are wicked. Really helpful without the snobbery you get at some places and good prices.
there's also a little place in deptford, just round the back of noodle king (in the wierd, nice little villagy bit). i forget its name but its got a black a pink sign and is next door to a florist (which has the same style sign). Never been there but i've heard its good.

I've got a room to rent in my lovely, fully furnished flat from the 14th of June. its right above tescos (which is open till 11) and has a great view of lewisham way and its tramps and close to brockley, new cross/gate, lewisham, st johns, deptford dlr, and loadsa buses. 30 min ride into town (for me and i'm slow). did i mention tescos plus loadsa other shops. i've got a big room outside for bikes and stuff (no - its not a conservatory. you have to see it).
so, if your not smelly, tidy and respectful and would like to live in lewisham with me and and my parrot (he's cool - if you don't mind spontaneously being called a wanker) then get in touch and we'll talk numbers.
cheers,
Minh Ai -

just saw a young lady in the back ground on the BBC news (at Greenwich) riding a white SS or fixed - looked like a miche crank set. You on here? nice work very subtly creeping into the picture and then riding off.
yes, twas i. thanks, but i wasn't trying to be subtle...i actually rode past 4 times waving my flag like a lunatic but they wern't having any of it so then i just stood there and sparked up a fag to piss them off!
ps. they are not miche. they are gran campe. thank you very much! :)

photoben Right take me off the list. I'd love to have done a re-run, but gotta go up and visit my folks in the lake district that weekend now. If anyone feels upset by this news, I'll bring you back some Kendal Mint Cake to console you ;-)
I am VERY VERY upset by this! can i have 2 mint cakes? oh, and maybe some fudge?

flickwg
minh ai i've been advised against doing this ride brakeless but i only have 1 bike and it doesn't have brakes. are the descents very scary?
hey minh ai, general point is if youre going to do the brighton ride (5th April) you will probably need a brake, get a clamp on, so you only put it on for longer rides, theres nothing wrong with having a spare brake is there
uhhh, like, yeah, that's like, sooooo un-cooool :)
thanks for the advice flickerwiggleby. i might be able to borrow my flatmates langster or i might just be hardcore. i'll look into the brake clamp too.

hippy
minh ai i've been advised against doing this ride brakeless but i only have 1 bike and it doesn't have brakes. are the descents very scary?
Without brakes they could be.. how hard is it to fit a brake to your bike? Is it drilled?
no. its a track frame. i've been down some fairly steep hills although they are generally quite short. it's the long hills that are difficult. Does anyone know how the descents comapre to, say, blackheath hill?

hello Joss...i too am a newbie. i'll be be on a sparkly white gan well impersonating a chinese dvd seller from the old kent road (there's your manopoly theme dogsball). at least you use your name...i haven't a clue who half these people are!
no. it wasn't me. denial.
the person in the article sounds like a wanker and minh ai is not a wanker.
"It's a very personal thing – I don't have the same relationship with my GanWell as I did with my old mountain bike - I take my fixie to bed with me every night".
minh ai does not have an 'ex-track frame'...it is still a track frame.
