Inner Tubes - since repairing a puncture on the move is a stupid idea
Not wanting to be too picky, what with all that has been said so far...but with my 2p this is not true!
A repair kit takes up less space than a tube, and the fact is there's no guarantee you won't puncture again before you get home and fix the first one...with a repair kit you can nearly always get back on the road withing 5-6 minutes. Obviously if it's pissing down with rain then repairing a flat at the side of the road ain't too fun, so also carry a small sachet of HTFU for those rare moments. Or just buy decent tyres, keep them no lower than 110psi and don't ride through glass.

I work at the british museum (just down the road) and we have a very similar policy. I even got banned from bringing my bike on site for a month once after a similar incident, although I got approached long afterward it happened and presented with a print out of a CCTV grab showing me cycling! It was lucky that I was abroad on holiday for three weeks out of that month...
What pisses me off is that you can arrive at the front gate riding a motor cycle, flash your pass and ride on through to the m/bike parking area, but I have to dismount and walk...
Apparently it all boils down to the fact that the museum has public liability insurance to cover them against accidents to public (or staff I guess) caused by motor vehicles, but not by bikes. I would assume UCL is the same.
Such a shame that common sense can't prevail and it has to come down to the £££. Such is life.

they are using Columbus SPX tubing, slightly heavy, ribbed, but stiff as u like ...
make of it what you want but it's good ol' steel as far as i can understand
to Clefty,
these frames fiddy sourced is by far the best.... have a look they are awesome !
I've got a frame made with SPX - it's basically the slightly heavier version of SLX used on larger frames. Still really light and an absolute joy to ride.
Edit: its not ribbed, but it does give me pleasure...

I had that problem, with a new set of Stronglight track cranks. Three weeks after getting them and I decide to put them on a different frame. Took the drive side off no problem, but on the other side the dust cap somehow got stuck in the threads and disintegrated, ripping out half the threads as it came....and so I couldn't attach the crank extractor.
I phoned up Outspoken Cycles (where I bought them three weeks previously) and they said it would be a manufacturing fault - not theirs - but weirdly they had a spare left hand crank arm 'lying around' and would send it to me free!
It does mean that the LH arm will have to forever stay on my pug, but I don't really have a problem with that.

^ What did it set you back? Looks lovely.
Enough... the euro exchange rate really didn't help either - it's coming from hamburg - but the frames a beauty and bang on the right size.* Apparently * it's an ex germany team frame that was only ridden a few times...and I'm going to choose to believe that. F*cking love the double crown forks, I reckon I'll need another set so I can run a brake on the road though.

Just been offered a £1000 for the whole bike if I can wait until payday at the end of the month :) So although its still officially for sale, as I doubt thats going to be bettered :D I'd say it was provisionally sold :)
My offer was a bit low then!
Keep us updated if anything changes/falls through, as I'm still interested in the groupset. Obviously would need to up my offer a bit though...

I've got a brilliant idea: Split it and sell me the crankset, mechs, shifters, cassette and wheels. I will then put all of them on the identical (apart from being62cm) super prestige frame which is sitting in my house frowning at me for not being able to ride it.
p.p.s I give you good price!
Hey, if you split it, can I have dibs on the groupset? :o)
I reckon I've technically got dibs... ;)

Any chance you'd split? I'm looking for levers, chainset and mechs.
