I bought this lovely track frame on ebay, but since I won't be drilling the forks I'm rolling brakeless... to stop me crashing (again) I think I need some form of braking assistance!
I don't fancy those clamp-on brakes, much rather some nice road forks to go with the frame - I did spend a few quid on the rest of it so don't want to cut any financial corners just for the sake of it. They need to be 1" threaded, ideally straight or with minimal rake/trail and have a long steerer - since I have a 20cm headtube the steerer needs to be somewhere around 24cm I think - I'd rather longer so I can cut down if needs be though. I don't think I'm going to get a colour match to the frame, so I'm after silver chrome. And if I'm being picky a nice flat crown...
I've asked in loads of bike shops from Evans to Tour De Ville to eBay but not got anywhere. If anyone has anything they would sell, or can point me towards somewhere/one that does I would be very grateful.
Frame pics attached, I haven't got round to photographing it built up - been too busy riding it ;)

I got stopped near the British museum on new Oxford street by a nice enough officer in one of those red cars (Diplomatic protection units, mostly retired officers so calmer). In a discussion I asked him if he had ever gone slightly over the speed limit or crossed a road when there was a red man he confessed to both and I told he RLJing was the same thing. I doubt this type of discussion is possible with most officers as most of them seem to be a bit defensive.
He told me that officers in red cars don't give out £30 fines, im not sure if this is true but maybe useful knowledge to someone
I had one of them stop me. He was massively pissed off, and waiving a f*cking machine gun around as well! To be fair I had just jumped a red light, but stopped when I saw them passing across me. They waited round the corner and gave me "a good talking to" I wasn't being helpful so they decided to give me a ticket....then realised they didn't have any left!
Generally I find it best to put on my poshest accent and continually refer to them as constable*.

23Cs on about 120psi - what a laugh! A few comedy falls, nothing too bad though. Fixed is definately the way to go, I was brakeless 46X18 and it was brilliant, loads of grip and traction, although a few skiddy moments going UP dog kennell hill!
My bike with uber deep section snow rims, and the Great Court at the British Museum from the inside - very dark inside due to the foot of snow on the roof...

Well I have nothing for sale, but there are a number of bike shops around that make, and also post, wheels.
E.g.
BETD - 130mm axle black Goldtec hub on a black CXP33, with equivalent front wheel = £232 posted. Not cheap, but very nice and damn strong wheels.

I'm not keen to Jon............ unless we can find buyers for the rest.
F&F, hset, bb £430
Wheels, tyres&tubes £100
Levers, chainset, mechs £120
Seatpin,saddle,bars,stem £100??
Completely understandable. Do drop us a PM if you're getting desperate though! I think we would be able to do some business...
Thanks.

Bianchi Pista at Evans for £295, thats cheap !
Bianchi training Bike With Straight Bars (Courrier)
"The bike is called the pista and i bought it for £295 opposite Waterloo"
Hmmmmm I bet.
More to the point is that the Evans opposite the station is the MTB one, they sell road bikes and 'fixies' in their shop along the cut, about 100yds away...
Cheeky bugger.

Holy shit that guy has some tasty goodies! Seen a few forks he's been selling on ebay, but max 22cm steerers, always. Will email him and see...
Again, nothing with a steerer that long. Unless I go with a 650 front wheel...
