Really nice ride last night, all fell into place after a messy start a Kings X - groupsaves from a machine would be a nice customer service addition and why does everyone at the ticket counter appear to be completing their dissertation? Great to have some tnrc newcomers out there - hope to see you again for another spin. Thanks to bmmf for (yet another) fine route. Next ride in 2 weeks, list up next week - not sure which route yet.
Real shame about losing you at the station Loic - I should have checked before we headed out. Glad to hear you got a nice spin back anyway. Hopefully see you out there again on a Tuesday.

Fine night for a ride - looks like a few people who know the route well. A couple of bits to watch out for on this route; the 6 or 7 mile stretch between Codicote and Hitchin on the way out tends to have a bit of traffic that may split the group up and requires some singling-up. We'll re-group just before the first roundabout at Hitchin if we get split up. After that it's quiet lanes, one draggy climb and a 7+ mile straight stretch from Lilley back to the B656/Codicote. Things generally get strung out along here as those that can, do... we'll regroup at the T junction at the end just before Codicote.
Vello - as Rameye says there's usually some no shows, so put your name down if you can make it. The next train (19:34) gets in to WGC only 12 mins later if we have any probs with bike capacity. I have a spare Exposure Spark I'll bring along if you want a loaner light.

Rep to whoever came up with the Ingatestone route - did it on Saturday morning and it's a lovely load of pretty Essex lanes. Only met one douchebag Essex driver on way back to station.
Mainly one of Clintsmoker's I think - I remember recce'ing it with him & shoots one Saturday. Nice back lanes as you say, possibly a better day route than a night one given than we keep getting lost. We haven't done that as a tnrc for ages... should put it back in.

Mon pleasure. How was the recently reopened stretch from Bough Beech to the foot of Bayleys Hill?
Don't know what it was like before repairs, but fine now. Apart from a few rough bits towards the end, thought the lanes were in better condition than expected. Looking forward to a Kent 1 spin now as well.

Terrific fun out there last night - a strong group, good to see some new and familiar faces. Lovely spin through Kent lanes, don't know why we haven't used that route for ages - probably the best tnrc spin. Kudos to Sam for originally putting it together. Cheers to Tim and Alex for the garmin leadership - I almost remembered the way round till messing up at the end. Good to see Alfie re-appear in the pub at the end, maintained the tnrc 'never lost anyone' claim.
Next ride June 4th - list up next week. The brave new world of Welwyn Garden City beckons I think.

I've got two on charge so that should see you through a shortish night, but spares are always good if you have them to hand.
Cheers Des, that would be awesome. I think I've got it covered but it is a setup I haven't tried out for fast night riding, so a bit of insurance most definitely won't go amiss! Should I chuck some CR123s in my pocket?
-
Alfie, I have a spare Exposure Spark, no idea what it is lumens wise - about the same as a Hope 1 I think. Will bring it along if you want to borrow.
How serious do lights need to be; I could scrape 200 lumens together, would that keep me a few feet off the tarmac?
Howard - navigational volunteer duties much appreciated, we should be fine, but for some reason this route hasn't been tnrc'd for a while so we may be a bit rusty on the turns.

Looks like a small enough group for 1 train, so aim for Victoria 19:07. Gets in at 19:44, if you are riding out aim to meet that. Anyone needs my mobile in case they are running late or whatever drop me a pm. Long time since we've done this route and it may be a tad unfamiliar, so best to keep the group together tonight - garmins may be called upon...

Great ride last night, perfect evening for a spin - someone did a good job of putting that route together. Nice to see the old school of tika, purple mj and mashton out there. Shame about the spill Will and Chris, hope those ribs aren't too painful today. Very helpful and attentive driver following it has to be said.
Next ride May 21st, list up next week - may actually make it to Kent this time.
According to the routes on ride with gps there's less climbing on this one than both Welwyn and Roydon. As Andy says, only Exedown is tough and that's short and walkable if need be.
