How to make a bike stand up on it's own using Photoshop.

1. Take a photo of the empty street, wheel the bike in and take another shot while holding it. Do this using a tripod and don't alter the position.

2. Drag both pics into a layered Photoshop document with the background on the lower layer.

3. Loosely marquee select around the hand and along the edge where it touches the bike on the upper layer.

4. Delete the contents of this selection. The background will be revealed and the hand is gone.

RPM's version is quicker and uses less expensive technology though...

Perhaps there is a lengthy thin pole supporting the bike that protrudes behind the seat tube to the ground that is hidden from view due to careful positioning?

Yes that is a contradiction isn't it - drop then rise. Same as the using white tyres when the ground is black. It is those funky contradictions that make things interesting.

Is there any way a single M10 Pitlock on one side of a track axle would give sufficient security? That would be cheaper or is that crazy talk?

So the solid axle pitlock costs more than a mini D-Lock but weighs less to carry around. You don't need to spend time locking and unlocking the front. Personally I think it is a good way to go unless any one has any awful stories about the solid axle pitlocks?
Getting the front wheel, the seat post and an a-head lock does mean sending quite a lot of money to Germany though.

chris crash carry a mini d, its stronger, allows more flexibility and you can throw it at RPM when he makes fun of your white tyres ;)

Did anyone every get these M10 Pitlocks for their front wheel? They look very large and I am wondering how they would look on a front wheel. Has to be better than carrying a mini d-lock but how will they look on a slender fork end?

I was trying to make the point that people choose to buy things for reasons other than technical performance alone. Creative and expressive reasons I guess...

I am not sure where Tynan is up to with his order. If there is still demand later on I could order more and perhaps get some white Gran Compe tyres too. Stocks of both types of tyres in Japan have been fluctuating wildly.

One more thing... I am currently based in Hull.

I have a boxful on it's way to the UK from Japan. Tynan has also ordered some I believe but I don't know what stage he is at.

It takes a while for things to get delivered but when mine arrive I'll announce it here.

The guy who designs the bikes told me he found a source for the green rims but they are not real Velocity Deep Vs. Note, no yellow branding stickers in the photos from the charge plug.
