The part of the route that i know of is made up off disused railway line.
The link from Forest Row onwards is NCN R21 if memory serves me right. There was talk that once it gets established, there would be cycle themed b&bs along the route. With secure parking and workshops for cyclists. To be honest i haven't kept up to date with this in a few years now.

Happy birthday matt!
p.s. Your wheel building class seams to have tought me how to bend spokes.
I can't believe you charged me £20 for that!
Luckly a qualified bicycle mechanic (cytech level 3) told me i was building my and my friends wheels wrong, weakning spokes by bending them just how you tought me!You should try reading:
Jobst Brandt "The bicycle wheel"
or check this site

and cheers to everyone else xx

just an update to say i am still here..
basically i had mentioned to someone that i may have to move out of the workshop space.. the whole premises was looking to be sold, but doesn't look like that is happening now.
The frame builder i was sharing hte space with is moving out due to being knocked off his bike a lil while ago, even with intensive physio it doesn't look like he will be building frames for the next few months at least.
...but... Max aka tall bike enthusiast will be moving in. So there could be some exciting things coming from the workshop soon.
as always, give me a call if there is anything you need doing.

I have a 58cm by 58cm un named road / pathe type frame. Has a stamp with british made on the bb shell and a red/white/blue paint job.
I got it from roberto back in the summer, but didn't really like the way it felt, was just that touch too big for me.
The tubes are slightly oversized towards the bb shell
i only have the frame, no forks.
£150ono... pick up from dalston or can even be taken to holborn.

The fag is great when installing... but tying to get a ridden fag bb out using it can be a nightmare... once you have slipped a few times then you have no chance.
the tacx works like a dream. tightens onto the bb, no slippage. works great with the plastic fag cups, as found on bromptons... if you are that way inclined.
not that i will judge you and your brompton in anyway. -

Well...... the room is now available again. Simon had signed up to the Camelot scheme months and months ago, a call came through the other day with a place for him, an offer he can't really refuse and that probably wont come round again.
Please make an orderly queue. ta!
Will be ready from the 1st of jan, yes i know it is short notice and it is christmas and all that but it would make a great start to the new year!

Sorry to all those that i may have offended with my dancing!
Was an amazing night, a brilliant end to a great year. Still amazes me how with thousands of members, this forum is one of the tightest groups of people that i know of. Bike Scene ftw.
Is just a massive shame that two of my favorite people are currently on planes as we speak. Hopefully the party will keep on going without them! -
Is there not a headtube sticker... with a bike shop name?
Unfortunately i cant remember what it said, i think it was middlesex or somewhere. Sheep has just had it powder coated. From what i know, it was just a small one man operation operating from out the back of a bike shop about 20 or so years ago.

Hey
Basicalllyyy... i don't have access to photoshop or anything like that. And the person who put together my banner originally doesn't have the file anymore.
I want to lift "the hub" part from my site banner for use on flyers etc.
http://www.btinternet.com/~thehubbmx/images/hubsmalllopp.jpg
Or if anybody can quickly put together something similiar, that would be great. Maybe incorporating "cycle workshop" into it somehow.
Payment in tool use and spare bits and pieces i have lying around. No real cash at the moment.. if you have ever met a wrench that actually makes money... please introduce me to them.
Many thanks

Has the hub been built up before with a different set of spokes/pattern?
Are the spokes seated ok in the hub?
Flanges straight?
Equal tension throughout the wheel?
Is it the same spoke thats breaking? If anymore snap, rebuild the wheel with new spokes and using brass washers. The head will sit better into the brass washer putting less strain between the spoke and the hub.
