Got the test build going on this fram today, BB fitted, got the head-set fitted with the help of a can of condensed milk and a couple of do-it-yourself shims.
Next step is a cheepo back wheel, and a 118 BCD chainring, anyone got one spare? (I know, 118s are rare as rocking horse shit but worth a try).

cheers skully, Sheldon said the same sort of thing. It looks like an 86 of something from Worksop.
Just trying to figure out what model. There are no eyelets for mudguards so I'm leaning towards the higher spec racers, but it's not a Professional as the BBB has no cut outs.
The search continues.....

I always carry a spare inner tube then do not have the fuss of repairing the tube till i get home
And those instant patches by parktool I think ??
Pretty damn good !2 punctures in a day and your running out of tubes, so sometimes the on-the-road job is forced upon us. I just assumed that it was the first things you learn when you start riding a bike as a kid.
there's no way in hell my dad would have let his son grow up not knowing how to fix a bloody punture!

I just picked up a lightweight road frame for £10, rusty, really light and propose to build it up as a beater to see how the frame is and then maybe restore if i like it. It's time I stopped riding one Raleigh record Sprint after another, goodbye trusty 501.
Here she is..

I have no idea what the frame is, it's very light though so I'm going with 531. Distinguishing features include, Haden lugs and an over sized cap on the seat stays, see next pic.

The seat stays are of the pregnant style, so thin at each end with the fattest section in the middle of the tube, you can just about see it in the next pic.

Next up are the forks, sloping lugless with Capagnolo dropouts to match the rear ones.

I've had a good old look around and I'm starting to get worried that she it another Raleigh, a lot of the Raleigh Professionals had Haden lugs and pregnant seat stays but slightly differnt forks, around 1984, but they didn't have cable guides on the top tube, but some of the tourers did. I'll know for sure if it's a Raleigh when I try to fit the heaset.
Here are the numbers form the frame just in case anyone recognises them as a give away.(first cjaracter on the BB is a W)

My best wishes go to those involved. I also hope this gets a lot of mainstream coverage no matter what the outcome. This is happening far, far too often.
