Charge hubs are System X sans brand. So talk of 'upgrading' to System X... forget it.

Any guesses on prices and materials for those frames or do I need to ask the shop?

is cheap dolan good or bad???

There have been many cases of wonky cheap Dolans, and a few cases of snapping cheap Dolans. Pretty much back-breakers on the streets too as they're alu and only meant for the 'dromes.

Personally if you can avoid Velocity deeps Vs and still have a set of wheels you like... do it because they're not really that great. They're a bit heavy and expensive, even if they do look nice.

I think your making a good choice on the frame. The BLB frame and new wheels will be a better bike than it's replacing... without you spending money on benefits you won't necessarily appreciate.

£30 isn't a rip-off anyway... unless your selling plastic fantastic halfords pedals or something.

also saddles and posts are very nickable. I had a campag aero post I didn't even bother putting it on. It'd be gone in days.

i considered it... but the exposed rails look shit IMHO.

have to says that a Brooks Swift would suit this bike more than a touring saddle.

If i could justify the money for a Swift... i do agree, but they're ridiculously expensive.

I'd have put a Rolls on but the narrow b17s I find really comfortable.

I went with no downtube decals, sometimes i wished i'd asked for no bottle bolts too... just for vanity!

BLB had 'em in black too and priced £26.

You'll also have to wait months and put your old bits on it. Not a problem as such but the idea of a one of those frames with a Charge A-head stem isn't nice... But that might just be a problem for me...

Actually 52cm is definitely pushing it.

I'm 5 11" but usually ride track frames on the small size (54cm). I think 52cm would be very wobbly for me down fast hills!

is it built-up (for me to try)?

I'm not in London 'till the 7th of Nov now but I'd like to give it a go.

is it the mechanics of bolting the clips on, or putting the straps through those holes that's too technical?
