SIRIUS... i had one of their mountain bikes yonks ago, they tig welded 653 which Reynolds didn't recommend needless to say it broke.. but they were quite helpfull in swapping it for another.

and i can see SPOKES in the front wheel... surley it would be easier to run discs front and rear. IMHO.

this is a 1978 Claud Butler and it does have a gear hangar.. i have somewhere all the SunTour / Weinman clobber to go on it and SR bars and stem. But i've just offered the frame and forks to another " wanted " ad.... will keep you posted.

£50.. it'll come with new headset , square taper shimano BB (newish) , seat pin and pinch bolt... and its 531 sticker incase you want to refurb it one day.

My old frame is cracked and I need a replacement! To fit my components it needs:

120mm dropouts
To take threaded stem (1inch)
For 700c wheels
cc to seat tube: 24inches or thereabouts
cc to top tube: 25 inces or thereabouts
british (BSA) threading

Nothing fancy, but solid - lugged would be nice. To pick up in anywhere in Greater London or a bit outside.

Yeah... and it reminds me of a mate who had his campagnolo stuff anodised gold yonks ago, everyone was so ploite about it when he built the bike back up. Truth be known it did look a bit iffy.

I've used my SAG on my commute to work in the summer (45 mile round trip), it's fine lots of internal pockets too, also has a handy place for a HiViz to in the flap over bit.

I've got an old 531 Claud butler about that size going, its virtually complete all it needs are brake cables (if you want brakes) and a fixed sprocket... the rear wheel will need redishing and they're decent sealed bearing 36h hubs too by SunTour.

When i repaired (stripped thresd) my Ghibli track disc.. i emailed them with a few questions, they were helpful mind you it wasn't costing them anything.
