campag wears in, shimano wears out ! nuff said.
Well at least you'll get you moneys worth from Shimano, i've just replaced some DA 7402 hubs that started their life in the 80's... and all the Campag stuff that i had from that era has long gone, all except some C Record hubs that last year i recycled back onto my fixed bike.
It's not that Campag products are all shit but i have had some disappointing experiencies with Campag. (the main one being a mate of mine stripped the thread off my Ghibli Track Disc at the nationals with an ill fitting Campag sprocket), but none (yet) with Shimano or SunTour.

Campagnolo as well as Shimano had their good and their bad things.
With the Triomphe and Victory series, Campagnolo did certainly not have the best series.
When the indexed shifting, internal brake cables, brifter, clipless pedals products started, Campagnolo was far behind.
On the other hand, first years D/A and Ultegra STI's were a nightmare, too.
First 2 types road SPD's were no success (although SPD-R was and is popular for trackies).
In the old days, Campag was simply better. Material, finish, function. The last decades, it's going up and down.Do you recall campags SGR pedals, pneumatic saddle and aero thermal bottles ?
i think the best campag item i have is the Big Corkscrew. -

I think it all comes down to how valuable it is...
As i've got a 1949 Hobbs of Barbican with all the period clobber on it even bar tape. The more i read about them i decided that to keep it original with the 40's paint and chrome even though it is shabby. A mate said that if you do paint it therest of the parts wouldn't look right, i think he's right and its staying original.

Ha you got me!
I am basically trying to achieve a ratio that will allow me to build leg strength on my rollers with resistance. The resistance on these are not as strong as that on a turbo so I am looking to get a GI of at least 110. Would like to go even higher but for that I would need to buy a new chain ring and I aint doing that
use big tyres that'll bump up the resistance.. and run 'em on the min. reccomended pressure too !

that's the same bloke i'm talking about - he brought that bike over to Condor a while ago.
Yes that was me, i took the prototype i have on loan into Condor for them to check it out.. its also the only bike ive had where people stop me and ask about it.
The Condor one is a later model to the one i have and is lighter and stiffer.
It's not NJS approved though even though it came from Kalavinka, only the lugged steel frames can obtain that status.crofty.

, just flick them over to the LFGSS CDN.
Ha ha ha.. my mate got a Ferrari. Everyone was green with envy untill the engine went bang and it cost him £8000 to fix... he's frequently seen about town now in his Mrs's Yaris.
