I saw this at Ripley and had to have it so splurged 51 quid (sorry Colnago_Costa!) on this Concorde Alura:
Hopefully it will fill the hole left by my lovely Concorde track bike that was nicked last year. Though I'll probably still pine for it.
I believe its a re-badged Bridgestone Radac: http://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/1987/pages/bridgestone-1987-07.htm
Planning on building it up with 10 speed Chorus and re-spray to look a bit like this:

I don't think I'd line the lugs on that - it would take it that crucial step from tastefully decorated to ridiculously fussy.
Well perhaps... it has jumped quite drastically from being indistinct (and un-nickable) to purplely hipster machine in the space of a few days. The paint looked a lot darker on the swatch.
Will see how I feel when the lacquer goes on.

I can see the sense in having them - it's not nice to be stuck in the middle of nowhere at 3 in the morning with a broken bike - but then where is the sense in riding 120 miles at night to the Suffolk coast? It's meant to be a bit stupid - Having a get out clause sanitises the experience somewhat.
That said - it's going to be me this year that breaks down in the middle of nowhere at 3 in the morning with a broken bike and no way to fix it!

3) dirkbang (it was my stupid idea - but we've yet to find someone stupid enough to actually do it!)and for the record - from now on I'll call them "that bumbling Tory toff who's in desperate need of a proper haircut poor excuse of a mayor who only got into power because idiots voted for him as some kind of ill concieved ironic joke wanker wanker wanker wanker wanker bikes"

I've just booked Sunday night in a B&B in Dunwich so will travel back Monday. I did it back in '09 but on the roadie - though loads of people did do it fixed so it's perfectly do-able... I just prefer to have the luxury of freewheeling down the the (few) hills.
Also - the coach I was on had a terrifyingly bad driver. We almost crashed on numerous occasions, at one point he braked so hard I flew forward in my chair - was buckled in but it spoilt the nice snooze I was having. Another reason to stay an extra night and get the train the next day!

I’ve got this fixie (concept model) on test from qoroz. We used some of the parts from my Bowery, so it’s not a finished article, but I’d really welcome feedback on what you can see from the pics.
I’ve got some more pics on my facebook page, just Google Alistair Cope Velo Ventures

Wow - that's some whacked out geometry - what size wheels is that frame meant for?

Well I'll probably build it and ride it first and see if I like it before I do make that decision. I know of too many people who spend lots of time and money on re-painting a frame then realising it's the wrong size or they don't like the ride.
The paint is pretty tatty, but at least it won't rust! I'm just worried about breaking it - I know screwed and glued alu frames can be a bit unreliable.
