I'm orf skiing again at the end of Feb, it's my second time - and although I wasn't too shabby the first time; could ski reasonably well by the end of my first week, got down a couple of red's no problem (although one I was mainly side-slipping my way through ice!).
I've decided to go for some more lessons while I'm out there for two main reasons; 1: Because more lessons can't be a bad thing, and while I'm a competent beginner (if I do say so myself) - it's always nice to improve your technique, and 2: Because it allows my GF and her family to bugger off to do some skipant-wetting black runs and do some off-piste action without muggin's holding them back.

Thanks @lynx. It's been checked up and the chap who looked at it couldn't find anything wrong with the alternator, so he cleaned up the connections and re-tightened a few bits, thinks it might be a dodgy earth... we'll see! May need to tap you up in the future though!

I've had my BMW 318ti E46 now for about 9months and am still enjoying it, though I've got some plans to do some work on it, too be honest, the 2.0 engine is a little gutless, though revs quite nicely.
I've tinkered on cars in me youth, little bits and pieces here and there, even helped my Dad's mate swap out the engine from my Beetle when I blew it up, (turns out, if a light labeled 'G' suddenly illuminates the dash of a 1973 Beetle doing 85mph, you should stop immediately as the fan belt has fallen off and the engine is rapidly heating up and soon black smoke will be spewing from the exhaust.) but I'm not what you would call a proficient mechanic, however I am very enthusiastic and handy enough.
I'd love to eventually do something like this guy, drop out the 2.0L lump and stick in a 3.0L lump: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=964911
But in the meantime, I'd love to just be able to tinker on the thing and learn a bit more about it. Space being a premium, this being London and all, I don't have access to a garage of my own, or possess any of the tools, or enough actually practical knowledge. Does anything know if there is any kind of 'teaching' garage co-op type places in London where one could get advice and a space to work on their own cars?

So - I after over a year pootling about on my 125, I've done a couple of lessons on the 650, passed my theory, almost booked my Mod 1 and then got ridiculously busy at work. I really just need to get on and finish what I've started. Was thinking of booking myself onto a 2 or 3 day intensive course so I can just get-it-done and get on with my life. Anyone got any recommendations for a school in London? I would go back to my current place (Eastside riders) who are very nice, but you have to book ages in advance. Plus they don't do intensive courses. Ta

I'm looking forward to seeing how this all turns out: http://www.carbuildindex.com/20285/privateer-buys-2007-honda-f1-car-for-track-days/

I've been looking into Citroen CX's recently as I've always wanted a DS or SM, but they're getting too pricey and rare.
Anyone ever had any experience with em? I've heard (like most French cars of this age) that they can be total rust buckets - but that they are also incredibly comfortable innovative cruisers. Also - they look freakin' awesome!

And for the record I think Nico is being a bit of a whiny bitch.

Apparently Alonso lost 20 years of his memory in that crash: http://m.smh.com.au/sport/motorsport/fernando-alonso-forgot-20-years-of-his-life-and-thought-it-was-1995-after-crash-in-testing-20150306-13wsnh.html?&utm_source=social&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=nc&eid=socialn%3Afac-14omn0013-optim-nnn%3Anonpaid-25%2F06%2F2014-social_traffic-all-organicpost-nnn-smh-o&campaign_code=nocode&promote_channel=social_facebook

Unfortunately it looks like I'm gonna have to shift my Honda CLR125, it's been a really fun and utterly reliable city bike, but I'm not currently riding it enough and I've just been handed a rather large bill for my other wheels. It's done 17500 miles and I've just changed the oil about 50miles ago. Anyone interested here before I stick it on autotrader. Thinking about £1200.

I've used blackcircles.com in the past, pick your tyres online and then you choose a garage nearby that books you in and fits them. Pretty simple.
