Guys in Nottingham are pretty pants, made me prove to them that they sell pumps online cheaper than they do in the shop for a price match. And they weren't too happy when they realised I was right. Also, have nice stock but I have heard of instances when people have gone in looking at stuff in the window and several employees didnt want to get them down. I'm not talking about a heap of shit, At least a grands worth of bike. Boo to Evans, also on another note. Freewheel in nottingham is the worst shop around, full of cnuts. Literally to the rafters, I'm not even going to get myself started about the number of times I've gone in and got shitted on for no real reason.
Nottm bike shops are some of the most inept I've ever been in. I went to evans and freewheel when I was home at christmas, looking for something specific, and got treated to patronising and pushy service in both. Didn't buy anything from either in the end.

Seeing someone commuting in this helmet would provide me with at least a weeks worth of laughter.
I've seen a dude commuting in one, I think he had a Langster or summat... T'was weird...
If you hang around near the Imperial War Museum you might see a guy on a red Trek fixie sporting one (minus the visor though, boo). I spotted him a few times last year and generously assumed he was a trackie heading to HH who didn't want to spring for two lids, but he was in a regular helmet last time I saw him so maybe not.

No good for skidding, but I recently got a pair of michelin speedium 2s for my hack bike for £5.98 each from CRC (RRP £16 each), and they've been great for the price. I've ridden through 4 or 5 big unavoidable patches of broken glass on them (yay London), and not a hint of them puncturing or cutting up so far. For cheap tyres they roll ok, and are plenty grippy too. They're obviously no where near as nice as my beloved pro race 3s, but for £12/pair commuting tyres they're doing the trick.

I went along to the last day of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit at the Natural History Museum yesterday. Overall I didn't think it was as good as the last two years, but still some interesting photos in there.
