whoops, sorry, went out so missed the follow up...
I have a headset, shimano one, a set of cranks, peddles, a set of handlebars and stem, a front brake, a brake lever(bit worried it's the wrong type though). two wheels(back one not tensioned entirely), two tires, two inner tubes, no cog or chain. a frame and some forks, but the forks have a too long post which hasn't got a long enough thread, so i need a thread cutter and a hacksaw...
bet you wont read this in time... before everyones already there... I'm gonna take the tube with all this stufff. it would kill me to cycle with it from clapton to clapham...

that's cool, I can wait, what a lovely thing to do, it's very generous. I'd be up for just going and watching people fix things, I feel i haven't got enough hands on experience yet...
if anyone else is doing a Sunday morning tool-y thing please give me a shout, I need to fit a head-set, and a Miche bb and crank set... and basically put the whole thing together...peddles, brakes, chain, cog... everything. I'll pay good beer/homemade cake...

VD (your choice of initals, not mine..) - are you genuinely struggling for the names? They was some pints you was drinkin..
you got your bike rolling yet?
yeah man, terrible with names, and especially more so when i'm hung over like yesterday. god it was painful...
no. Bike not up and running yet.:-( Need someone with a Miche BB tool, and help to fit the headset... was hoping sunday tool-y day might be the day... Things getting desperate coz regular brown smear's tires have perrished beyond repair... Picked my wheels up yesterday though, and they are things of beauty!

hello,
I have no clue about fitting bb's and getting the chainline right and spacing and all that stuff because i've never had a fixed gear bike yet, and i havn't been involved in the building of one, and i dont have the tools, so i guess i'm asking whether you think i'll have the same problem as you guys experienced? seen as i have a miche bb and a miche advanced crank set, plus english threaded frame, and a set of soma track hubs... i guess it's all in the hub size right? anyway, I've still got my BB in mint condition and can still take it back to the shop, so guess i was just worrying... and fishing for tips/reassurance...
what was the conclusion/solution? in beginners language?
