BoBoB are you guys riding from North London? I'm leaving Hackney about 8.30 dropping in briefly in Brixton to pick up a friend. Maybe see you guys on route. I'm well jealous of you guys camping. Sounds sweet, stupidly i've organised a house to stay where camp fires are not allowed. booo. Got a sleeping bag though

Christ it's saturday. I get up at 6.30 every day. Maybe I should have a kiddy that would get me up nice and early any day of the week. I'm meeting a friend in Brixton after 8 but I'll try catch up the sightseers group. Leave a trail of spoke cards for us. After trying fixed to Dunwich a few weeks ago I'm too scared to ride the downs without gears so it's gear mountain bike with ickle slick tires. And just to add to the cool factor i'm putting a rack on to.

I feel like someone gave my knees to some kids who mistook them for the game Operation. The one with the buzzer. First time in fixed 48-17 maybe a little hard going or lack of fitness. An awesome ride and fantastic to be greeted by the sun on the beach. Warmed me up a treat after breakfast. I hope everyone got there ok and had a jolly time

Increasing drivers, pedestrians and cyclists awareness and decision making ability is crucial. All to often pedestrians walk out on the trust of a green light. Try looking before walking your life across a road. Ultimately drivers have less personal physical threat to them if they make a bad call resulting from poor decision making.

Technically I learnt on the plastic three wheel tractor which I hogged religiously at play school.I'm an only child.By four I stagared like a drunk on my blue folding happy shopper. Only until, perched at the top of the mountain, aka the local park hill, did i rid my drunken style. Hurtling down at break neck speed, terrified to move the handle bars incase i threw myself from my prized bike did I learn to truely master the reins.
Every kid should have access to a bike. THey are so liberating. All the woods, and rivers and beaches I visited as a kid. The adventures with mates.awesome.Bikes were an integral part of my childhood.
Good times
I wish I could share my grining pictures of me on my bike but they are all with my mum.Ah well makes going home amusing.
Good shout on the thread -
Excellent. The 12th of April sounds perfect. I'm just leaving the big, wet smoke for Crete for a few weeks to build a treehouse.I was gutted I couldn't do the intial date but if the weather holds "its on, its most definately on".I'm up for riding back but not before sampling the delicacies of Saff-end.I've been testing my now ruined knees on the south downs. Essex sounds much kinder.

Sorry i've lunched it. Waking up to pouring rain and snow hurtling horizontally past my window i made other plans for saturday night. The dude is going bowling with some white russians. After the joys of getting pissed on in my green houose on the monopoly ride I fancy a dry night. Maybe monday night if the weather is a little more hospitable?

I was reading one of the earlier discussions about a night ride taking in the Greenwhich tunnels!? Feeling the joy of riding those quiet streets, the humming tyres and the twinkle of the spokes as your legs glide you ever forward. Interspersed with a frantic charge through a road tunnel to explode out the other end, legs flying, heart hammering away. As I read on,getting more and more excited, I choose then to realise that I was a year late and the discussion happened march '07. Balls. ANyway that's no excuse. Anyone around this wknd up for a night ride if the weathers kind, Maybe sat evening? Gonna leave Hackney area heading towards Brick Lane then out along the river A13 towards the towers and tunnels...

I did the Dynamo last year on a geared old Claud Butler which carried me all the way beautifully. I'm intending on doing it this year on my fixed gear but feeling slightly nervous. I've recently started riding the SOuth downs which is exhausting. Wrestling up the hills and riding like a maniac down the otherside! From what I can remember of the Dynamo last year, which has been pushed out by the memories of cold and wetness there weren't many epic hills. The last few hours were filled with Haribo gorging going to far NOrth cos I was to tired to argue about directions. Role on the Solstice

Wicked ride. I'd like to say that I wet through but Bond street station approached and the fruits of my labors payed off. The green house kept me bone dry.Much respect to the £1 shop. Proper christmas cracker territory but today shined through. Only got stupidly wet cold feet which are now warm enough to feel. Thanks for the prizes whoever donated the saddle. If anyone is up for a regular ride maybe sundays i'm game.

I totally missed you guys. I admit I left at 10.30. Did you get caught in the time trial race in Handcross. I must have got lapped about 3 times by one dude. Can I clarify did anyone ride up Devils Dyke fixed without stopping or walking and if so how did they breed their legs to not get really upset.
Also thanks to the person who name escapes me for the written directions. Excellent. Didn't get lost once I'm most grateful. Hope you all had a grand ride and I hope to make it on time next time.
