Absolutely. Back 2 Black is often poor and a lot of labels are just throwing records out with little to no quality control, often from a CD source. My local record shop had a whole order from the US where the records had been shrink wrapped before they were cool and had warped.
A lot of things are just down to record pressing being an industrial process - there's going to be dust, release fluid, oils and greases from the machines and paper shavings from the sleeves that get into/onto new records so I always clean them before playing them.
Other than that, there's so many variables that you could probably get two records from the same pressing run that actually sound different!
It's a mad world when it comes to records. Have you seen the guy that sells 'hot stampers' of really common records for hundreds of dollars?

I have one of the Ned Doheny albums but that's my only experience. It's very good and well pressed, presented etc and it sounds good.
I think you'll be hard pushed to find anything that hasn't been digitised at some point between recording and record these days but they seem to take care and I don't think they're the type of shysters that would press from a CD source which I think is where a lot of the poor pressing come from. (Not that one exists for this.)
Pretty soon everything will be from a digital source as master tapes degrade with use and over time so a lit are being transferred to preserve the music. I'm sure it's a bit of a red herring as to quality (much like 180/200/220g vinyl.) A properly mastered and pressed record will sound good whether it's from a digital or analogue source on 140g or heavyweight vinyl.

As a massive Arthur Russel fan, I am very excited about this. I have a copy but it's in such poor condition it's not really playable and the thought of spending £80-£100 for one that's in not much better condition doesn't appeal.
It's rare that I get too excited about reissues but this is a peach:

I owned a GT for years which is based on the same platform. It was ultra reliable and only had a problem with rust when an incompetent mechanic jacked it up on the sills rather than the jacking points and split the seams.
Built quality was as good as any Volkswagen or BMW I've had and it made a decent nice change from a Golf, a 3 Series or an A3. Selespeeds appear to become problematic so I'd avoid those but other than that, like any car, just find a good one.

I use a Numark Mixtrack Pro 3. It's been great for home use, house parties and also small sized warehouse parties so it's quite versatile for a cheap controller. It has full size pitch faders too which I quite like.
It uses Serato, the free version is okay but I felt it was worth paying for the full version - if you're going down this route, there are bundles available which I think makes it a bit cheaper.

I wonder with Froome cracking so badly, if they'd changed CG leaders overnight or Landa was told to see what he could do.
I don't think Froome liked this and he's got form for attacking the leader but it seemed like a particularly stupid move to drag the rest of the GC contenders up with him and help Aru stay in yellow.

I think it's the knock-on effect on sales of things like that - they're not suggesting that Sky are still wearing Waffa.
