Just to clarify beginners play at Peckham carpark on Tues from about 7ish. Today was a one off session a few of us felt like doing while watching Hells Belles over the weekend, but sadly half of us couldn't make it in the end, hence the plan of joining forces at newt. Beginners is not at Newington nor on Monday. So yes tomorrow at Peckham business as usual.
Tue 17 Oct* in Peckham***

At the moment, you might be the only person in need of making a Mallet, so I'd say use one of the spare one if you can wait for another week or so. I still haven't gotten round ordering the black pipe and I am poping down to Cleckenwell Screws for some allen key bolts on Wed that should be better for the dowel method. So I won't be making any tomorrow. I could give you some yellow stuff to make your own during the week if you don't want to wait.

oh yes, car park it is, Tom! And do you mean this for intermediates mondays?

Kev gave me some yellow pipes for beginners', there should be enough for 4 or 5 heads. If anyone wants, I will bring it with me on Tues. Paul and I are getting some black pipes this week, once Paul fixes the mallets he needs fixing and I have got the bits I need, the rest will be up for grab. Yellow pipes are free, black pipes are not, but very cheap.

I can't remember who I was talking to last night, but if you could get some cheap poles from a charity shop then it'd be great, but don't spend too much on ski poles, as poles are only £7 each from LHBPA. I have not yet any xperience using them, but they've been tested by many of the "big boys" aka experienced players.
I am likely to be heading up a group buy of THIS
. I only have very little experience with them but I think the general comment is they are lighter but don't last as long? (Someone please correct me if I am bullshitting)
The heads from LHBPA are also great, I have yet to make my mallet with the one I bought.
So there are plenty of choices and I have too much time in my hands when I am in the office that I could really be practising polo instead. I hate my job.
So shall we start some lists of mallets making and stuff buying?

Just sent an email to the seller see if they could deliver to my studio in New Cross. Only problem with that is nobody ever answers the door so they would have to call me when they get there. If they are happy to do that than I am happy to place the order, but I don't want to start a list until I have a reply from them. And it might sound really selfish; beginners' who want mallet heads would have priority with the order. CowHen, you have a PM.

Just a thought, anybody is interested in having a group mallets building session or something? I know the theory of building one but me and tools don't get on. So if we get enough people who want / need to build their mallets and maybe someone is kind enough to bring the tools and lead the session? I am happy to sort out the actual materials (nuts/bolts, even heads and poles from John H).
If nobody is interested then I shall bother Rick again later on the week to have my other mallet built.

For buying poles and heads, HERE.
Price Jim? I think I saw in another thread you mentioned around £120 for a pair? Sorry if it's a price I have made up from nothing.
