Nah, my brother's a shit driver despite cycling since about 6yrs old. You'd think he'd see it from the cyclists point of view but no. He even ignores the ASL, the most basic of things to adhere to.
Fair enough. I guess it very much depends on if you are a careful person or not. I can't drive but sometimes when I am on the bus or someone's car, looking at other cyclists on the road, I ask myself how could I do this day in and day out. It looks more dangerous from inside a car.
But peds are the worst of all, they are like little pests come from anywhere. I once near hit a woman in a red long coat with red shoes hiding between 2 red double decks, and that was my fault for nearly running into her, according to her "Fuck you". A long day after work, a fuck you was just what I needed to finish the day.

Because passing a driving test is a piece of piss. And there's no limit to how many times you can take it. Failing 5 times should really give them the message that they're just not god enough. But no, it is their right to drive no matter what happens they're going to drive
True, very true. I think cyclists should know how to drive and drivers should know how to cycle. Then maybe the world would be a better place. Or not...

I actually saw a police jumping red light once when all other cyclists stopped at the red light, obviously. As soon as he jumped he realized he was the only one and he stopped and looked back looking extremely confused. I bet he was thinking why didn't nobody jump? I was walking pass and sooooo tempted to go up to him and ask him to give himself a ticket for that.
By the way, did anybody see any bike police in walworth / camberwell area yesterday afternoon? Were they on a mission or something to catch cyclists jumping red light / cycling on pavements etc etc? I saw like 4 and a guy cycling on the pavement with flipfop and 4 tesco bags on his handlebars got caught.

Are drivers more patient with people who happen to be pedaling a two wheels than everyday cyclists? I nearly got killed on my way home today because the driver didn't see me but the cyclist in front of me??? We were both heading straight and this woman driver was waiting before the give way line (or whatever it's called), she stopped and waited for that cyclist in front of me to pass but not me, as soon as I got in front of her, she moved... I was only a meter or so behind that cyclist in front of me. Surely she saw me as well as the cyclist in front or me. For a sec, I thought that driver was on a mission to kill me... She drove away calmly. How did that happen? More importantly, how did some people even manage to pass their driving tests at the first place?

Tonight I saw this tit whose indication method was to punch the the air to his right then immediately veer right without looking. Just staring dead straight ahead the whole time, at speed. Was so close to taking people out again and again.
Mayb he was on drug? Or maybe he is just born a cunt. He might as well not indicate.
Just out of interest, when you and everyone else indicate, do you sort of wave / move your hand (not the whole arm of course)? I see some people do that and it got me thinking is it because moving things are more noticeable? I do that myself sometimes...
-
When r people gonna learn to indicate before turning? I was heading towards elephant on walworth road, there was this guy coming the opposite direction and he all of a sudden took a right turn knowing I was going straight... No indication or eye contact, nothing!! A emergeny brake from me unwillingly... I am not even sure a right turn is allowed there. Must check tomorrow.

It was one of those days, you know. And some red lights changetoo quickly... Anyway, it's over now.
And... The good news is, I have just received a rather positive reply from the bus company saying the driver will be identified and interviewed, and actions taken may include retraining, monitoring and observation... Plus a big fat apologies. Well I guess that's result!

^ This is exactly the point. I didn't do anything to have deserve that aggressive reactions from the driver. Yes, I did overtake on the right, which wasn't as safe as overtaking on the left. And some people have already backed me up on this that I might or might not have done something wrong, but either way, it didn't excuse the driver's behaviour. Maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he was born a cunt, I don't know, but he didn't have to right to threaten me the way he did, hence the complaint.
I think the confusion was that I underestimated how long the red light would stay on, so half way through my overtaking, the green light came on, so it was a little messy and I think both myself and the driver could have been a little more patient. I don't know... it's over now, let's see what the bus company says.

I wish I had done the same with the pass couple of incidents, one was about 2 weeks ago and one was like over 3 years ago. Both of which were more serious this this one. The one that happened 3 years ago, I actually fell off my bike and the driver got off the bus to have a go at me, but then that was not long after I started cycling in London, so I was scared and scared... I guess we all learn from our experiences.

Got a reply from the bus company:
"Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your email which has now been forwarded to the relevant personnel for a full investigation, upon receipt of their findings I will be in touch with you.
In the meantime if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me..."Will see if they will actually do anything... I doubt it though, but hey, I have done it, whatever happens next is beyond my controls.

To be honest, I leave the final touch up for my lab to do anyway, plus I don't do any commercial, so I never have to deal with any client, so to speak. I just want the colours on the 2 screens to be close enough so I don't end up going mad. I know many photographers who can get by just fine without a so called decent monitor and are doing well enough. If you are doing very well and successful, then fair enough you have the best gears etc etc, but the truth is many of us just don't have the spare cash and have to find ways to work around it.

I think you get a little too caught up with that 1 meter distance I said, I didn't have a ruler with me, it was just a rough guess. The road was relatively quiet, I was just about to take her over because I felt it was safe to do so. And I wasn't exactly behind behind her. Do you suggest I should just slow down and cycle patiently behind her when she was wobbling her way? Coz this is exactly what I did mins before that in Peckham, that other guy did a sudden stop twice because his many shopping bags were falling off his shoulders / handlebars etc etc. That I did give him was more room because it was wise to do so and the traffic was a lot busier so it wasn't safe for me to take over.
So I don't really understand what you are asking here.
