forest hill road is on my daily commute. It does get quite tough at the top, especially if you take the right turn. mange it ok running 46x18 (noticebaly easier than 46x16), spin like a bastard on the way down in the mornings though, as long as that bloody lolly pop lady doesnt decide to jump out in front of me.
-
finally got around to taking a photo or two of my surly (also the sun came out).

not the prettiest bike, but i like it.
is that a clamp on brake lever, or one of those that goes in the end of the bar?
i'm after a pair for my better halfs SS that are clamp on, to go on choped drops (bull horn stylee).

Edit... Prav: From the horses mouth^
Ross
He's a busy man, buys and sells lots of vintage gear. Some people have found him a little uncommunicative at times, regarding ebay purchases. I imagine he's making a good living out of getting into jumbles early by paying for the privilege, buying almost everything for job lot prices, then making it all back and then some on ebay.... allegedly.I could think of worse ways to make a living.
so does he pay to have a table and then not sell anything, just to to get in early? or is there another way round it.?

I'm after a cheap 700c single speed rear wheel to complete the (re)build of a pug for my mrs. does anyone have anything?
I'd rather not fork out 70 odd quid on a new one as the bike itself isn't worth much more than that, so if anyone has anything sitting around that runs true and is in good condition, that they don't need please let me know. there must be loads of people on here who have upgraded the wheels on their OTPs and so have spares..?
or if you know where I could get a cheap new one from, then that would be a good start.
We really want to get this bike up and running ASAP so she can join me on the ride on March 7th.
thanks.

only shop i've ever been in where they'll lend you the tools and a stand to do something then and there if they don't have the time. will be poping in tomorrow to have them help me out with a couple of things.
it's the sign of good staff if you don't feel uncomfortable asking what you know is probably a stupid question.
here are my efforts. I'd really love to get one of these made.
