The Trinity Arms in Brixton then? - got outside seats, enough railings to support a war effort and a little park thing in the middle. And it sells bitter. That said, Clever Square's got the same but its more expensive.
Peckham's got that studoid-ish bar under the arches off Rye Lane, its got a yard - SLondon polo drinks ended up there once.
I don't go to clapham.

Too many choices! If its going to be a potential summer drinking venue, what about pubs with outdoor space?
Borough? - that pub with the massive courtyard?
Vauxhall? - there's that pub in the hell hole that is St George's Wharf, but it looks out onto the river
Peckham? - the bar in the railway arches?or a can of super lager in burgess park?

hael I remember reading a cycling magazine years ago and it had an article about London and they locked up 4 or 5 fully kitted out road bikes and left them out overnight in various location each with 2 heavy duty locks ..the next day all but one were gone, the one that was left was stripped of everything the only thing left was the frame and two rims/tires, they cut the spokes to get the hubs!!
There was a slightly above (but not much) average MTB locked up to the railings on the north side of vauxhall cross recently. The owner left the front wheel unlocked during the day and it vanished. They then clearly couldn't be bothered to take it home on its one wheel, so within the last 10 - 15 days its been stripped of *every *available part. The only thing left on it is the bb, and a seat post that looks like its seized.
I don't think its the quality of the parts that matter, its the ability to shift them quickly at a low price level to meet the needs of your next fix. That and the magpies.

Yup, they're the RB201 ones, but i didn't fancy hanging *that *far over the front wheel and had a band saw to hand in a friends' motorbike place, so I just started chopping bits off the end until they were comfy. And yes, those brakes are cross levers... Can I take one off you? You're in ED aren't you?
-
Ah, i've got some of them (off gumtree luckily), and had 'em on with no tape for about 6 weeks. Didn't flex that much, but I did chop a couple of inches off the ends, so I might not be putting pressure on the ends of the bars. I taped them up a fortnight ago and completely forgot about leaving space for the brake lever (perhaps as a premonition to Alice Fisher, of The Observer), so I've only been using it to pootle about to the shops since.
Not very good photo of it here
(and yes, I know, the cable / cupboard combo is ugly, but just look at the fireplace, where i pose, thumb in waistcoat, pipe in mouth deriding the Observer reading classes )
I don’t want bar-end brakes and my current levers (a tektro and a specialized) don’t fit the clamp, as it’s a 26mm diameter… so I need some top mount ones… any recommendations?
Was thinking about getting some of these:
but the 31mm diameter is going to be massive and need an enormous shim… and don't want to spend on two, unless Stelle, you want to share a pair? -
silver i'm assuming people know about this

Has anyone got an oversized brake lever (L or R)? Something above a 26mm. I got a bit *over *enthusiastic with the handlebar tape this week.
Needs to fit over a nitto clamp, so 28mm+? Or any langster owners with some of the specialized 31.8mm top mount ones kicking about?
Have assorted (used) cogs, pedals, odds & ends and cash... -

US police have cordoned off a section of New York City's Times Square to investigate a small explosion. A man on a bicycle is believed to have thrown both an explosive device and an incendiary device at a military recruitment centre.
Don't make it the Regent, its so close to me there's no point in riding to it! And in my defence, I was a regular there *before *its gastrotwunt makeover, when you could dump your bike in the pub, and Alex would let you ride his kids bikes around the rooms upstairs. That and the lax application of the law. The current German bar girl is very keen to do a HH track induction though. Once its the summer we could do a rotating venue - its only five minutes between four of the pubs listed up there ^^^
