Does anyone have access to a pair of the goggles that are used to simulate the effects of drunkeness? They are the kind of thing that are used as part of drink aware campaigns to remind people of how impaired their vision and coordination is when pissed.
If you could lend me a pair to use on Wednesday, I would be eternally grateful and pay handsomely for the use of them. They are to use with kids in a job interview.
All suggestions of taking along a truck load of booze to do the job welcome, but not overly helpful.
For the more cerebral, I want to use them to illustrate Hare's idea about Bliks.
Thanks
Joe

Any recent experiences of the lockblock torch mount or similar? (the link on the 1st page is broken GA2G)
http://www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/accessories/bike-mounts.html
Any alternatives / better suggestions?
I brought a pair of lights from fleabay last winter, they were suggested up thread from Korea as a great front and solid rear light. The front mount is knackered though and I'm running a bog standard cateye atm.

I don't think I get the point of this thread. Are you saying that because it was raining you couldn't control your bike and that as a result of this you rode in a twattish / unsafe manner?
Do say if I have missed something.
Edit: If you, Grandini, saw this, then I stand by it being twattish riding, but it's not you. Apologies.

Oh how I LOLed as my back tyre pissed out its onerous cargo of air at 06:45 this morning in Bermondsey as the daily Keltbray convoy splashed past me. The first proper autumnal roadside grump this year. On the upside, big thumbs up to my showers pass jacket that got on with the job of being waterproof.
-
^^ I have an old Stowaway (bought from the classifieds here) and the waterproofing has totally gone. I know the Stowaway/Wind jacket isn't a proper waterproof, but this is soaked through the second it gets hit by even the lightest drizzle...less waterproof than the winter jersey or even a regular jersey. Saying that, it's still one of my favourite bits of kit and if something happened to it, I'd buy a new wind jacket to replace it in a heartbeat.
Just ordered some Nickwax stuff that I'm hoping will revive the Stowaway.
Could you report back as to how successful the reproofing is? I am in the same position and would be keen to know if works out.

I've been following the leangains intermittent fasting program for the last 2 weeks, and it's working really well so far.
I've been combining it with 200mg of caffeine 3 times a day - which may not sound like that much, but I don't drink tea/coffee or coke, so the first day, my last pill was at 6pm, and I was still wide awake at 3.30am
Intermittent fasting is eating for 8 hours, not eating for 16 - you can pick your own window, so I do 2pm to 10pm.
I also cycle carbs, so on the days I'm doing resistance training, I eat high carbs, and on the non training days its low carbs, high fat (protein stays the same)
Interesting, when you say working well, how much weight lost? Also, what training are you doing? Just resistance or cardio as well?

Hey guys, currently im running 44-17 on a brakeless and strapless bike, still however finding it easy, but i recently broke my chainring and have decided to go bigger and maybe get some straps for my pedals, do you think 52-17 would be a wise move? cheers! :)
By strapless, do you mean that you do not have toeclips / pedal straps? If so, there are quite a lot of people who would be of the opinion that by riding a brakeless bike without foot retention you are playing fast and loose with your safety and that of other road users.
If, however, you are a lazy Sunday afternoon troll then I claim my £5.

Whatever happened to those two tits from that achingly cunty blog....can't remember what it was called
They've been busy, of course, getting in magazines n shit:

Thing is, Look magazine is the vanguard of cutting edge cool, so don't go getting all pissy on their little bit of fun.

I was lucky enough to have tickets to watch Tyrannosaur last night at the BFI followed by a Q&A with Paddy Considine. It is a cracking directorial debut (as a full length feature) and whilst at times utterly brutal, there are also moments of great tenderness. Well worth a watch if Shane Meadows / Ken Loach stuff appeals.
