Lol, I know Cat1 roadies that have never ridden a powermeter, let alone, own one.

The team I ride for, there are 6 Elite license holders, 2 1st license holders and 3 2nd category license holders. In the entire team there is one person who races with a power meter, and only 5 that train with them. When it comes it racing in the U.K. I would say that probably less than 10% of people race with a power meter, I know all of U.K. youth have an SRM this year as do NFTO but I cannot think of any other U.K. teams that have them as a team issue item.

Are they an open mould now? it's definitely the same as my fork but mine isn't a 3t.

I prefer the Hollowgrams, the new Specialized cranks look nicer than those but I think I'd still go for the 'Dale cranks.

Is it hard work always trying to be right? Assuming that everything you have done is either harder or better than anything anyone else have ever achieved? Yeah sure you think you exam was harder because you did it and you're so awesome right? I think is is Carbon Fibre not Crabon Fribe as long as we are correcting people.

This is all very true, and you can build an excellent bike with physics but there is no guarantee that a bike with great numbers won't ride like a bag of shit. The numbers aren't always right when it comes how a bike feels when you ride it.
A close friend of mine was riding for a team run by a management company that imports custom made carbon bikes from France, as a race bike for last year, because they didn't make one already he asked them to copy the exact geometry and size of his Cannondale Flash 29er from the previous season. They copied it exactly, if you lined it up and measured it, it had all the same measurements. Yet his new bike rode like a shed, nothing like the original.

You wouldn't believe the amount of 'engineers' in work that waffle on about how bikes are simple and they know more than you because they have a degree in building bridges, housing developments, or fixing tanks etc... When in fact they are just looking for some one to listen to them waffle that can't walk off or tell them to shut up. Sometimes it is interesting, but most of the time it isn't because it is in no way related to what you are trying to do while they waste your time.

Some times it feels like that here.

Now, with the sudden realisation that you're allowed to make the chainstays from something meatier than ¾" tapering to ½" thin walled steel tubes, it's hard to see why the fashion for short chainstays persists.

Because a longer chainstay would make the wheel base longer and effect the handling.
