"I'm completely in agreement with you, but let's be honest I didn't think I would be selling this as a complete bike to the type of person who's on LGFSS..."
that imo is basically admitting that this bike is aimed at some one who does not know what they are buying and will believe that this is a genuine track bike, only to find out they have bought a conversion then be stuck with something that they paid way over the odds for.
welcome to the forum and all but don't lie then expect instant forgiveness when you get caught.

thanks, the reason i ask is i'm currently using my old alu road frame as my commuter with a 'magic' gear. i want to get it sprayed black but it seems pointless spending the money on the if i'm not going to get proper ends put in it first. why go to all the trouble you ask? it's because i love the way the frame rides and it's served me well so i don't want to get rid of it or it be resigned to the pile of frames, but i also want it to be capable of what i'm using it for.
thanks for all you help.

It amazes me on a daily basis how many fucksticks we get on here thinking they know better, they try and sell single brake single speeds, awful conversions and try and fob it off to us as 'the latest track bike craze that's hitting london from the states' i mean come on have a fucking look around yeah? the names and faces, with pictures of all our rides surely would let you know that we all have a pretty good idea of how to put a bike together, no? or is it just me?
i don't confess to to be the be all and end all of bicycle mechanics but i know enough of what i'm talking about, and when some one on the forum spots some one trying to pull a fast one on the back of fashionable bikes and calls them up on it, they then come on here with a identical user name claiming to be some one else and get all fucking shitty about be rumbled. It's fucking bollocks.
you wouldn't spray a astra red and sell it as a fucking ferrari at a owners club and expect to get away with it would you? so why do you think it will wash on a bike forum?
slack.

I know you can get it done with a steel frame and understand that it'd just a case of pretty much melting the old ones out and puttting new ends in.
For some reason in my head i think alloy welding is more permanent and cant just be melted out, but does any body know if you can get track ends put in a alloy frame or is it impossible?
thanks :)

"What difference it would make even if it was a converted road frame, provided the 'conversion' had been done by a reputable frame builder?"
because then it's not a fucking track frame is it darling, it's a road frame with track ends isn't it? 130 spacing, slacker angels (© Condor), drilled for brakes. There for, not a track frame.

yeah it sat in the stand for and hour while i listed the many reasons i wouldn't work on it then called the owner and told them to come and pick it up in exactly the same state it was when they dropped it off.
That's the first real-anti porn in ages that didn't hinge on taste.
How short did they cut the bars?the bars only went to the end of the third 'knobble' on the grips, the last one and the end was completely unsupported.

the reason the paris was made is because back in the olden day you weren't allowed to have a sponsors name on your bike, so condor made the paris so everyone would know they were riding a condor. see?
Is this one any better?
Is the general idea behind these two frames shorter wheelbase and stiffer rear?

that just reminded me of this, it was brought into the shop the other day with a bag of parts and a "can you make this work". I didn't take a picture of it but the crank was a double ring riveted type with the outer ring cut off with a angle grinder.
What do you mean a free wheel wont work as a lock ring?
and yes the bars dont reach the end of the grips.

right, I think it's finally finished, even though I said it was before. My about town/pub bike. I'm thinking about getting the frame and fork powder coated black though, but i don't know if it look good? (so if any dandy potato shoppers want to make it black so i can see what it'll look like please). what do you think?

Hey all,I recently got my hands on a 2003 pista concept. I was always under the impression that all the pista concepts one could bar spin with no modifications. Amiwrong about this, cause I put on a 700c wheel just to test it out and it's no where near to clearing the down tube!
thoughts?

no i was referring to another thread about a spelling mistake on the condor website where they put 'angels' instead of 'angles'
