Not sure if this will help, but I just want to add my experience. I have three road bikes, am 5'10" tall with 32" inside leg. I find that the ideal pedal/to middle saddle height is 92.5mm with the crank in line with the seat post, i.e. not vertical. The height of the seatpost however is slightly problematic, as if it is too high out of the frame, even if you push the saddle as far forward as possible your foot angle is in too 'recumbent' a position. The other problem area is length of arms/trunk. Oddly my favorite sized frame is a Terry Dolan which has a seat tube C to C of 51cm., and a top tube length of 55.5cms. However this frame is old and and current frames tend to have a lot less size differential between the seat and top tubes. I tried a new BMC, Colnago, Cervelo Soloist, and Pinarello Prince 54cm and the last provided the closest to the Dolan, and so i ordered it. In my own terms, I want 'long and low' rather than more upright and 'compact'. Obviously adjustments and fine tuning can be done with bar drop depth, stem length and height and so on. My final advice is do not buy before trying as many different set ups as possible. Ask any roadie you know, to try their set up as a test ride, they will be appreciative of your interest. Also remember, as i have learnt to my cost, that buying the wrong size frame is a super expensive mistake!

Looks like this will be a no-no:

I don't stint on stuff really, but I would find it hard to spend £7,000 on one bike. I'd rather have say, one new top range Felt (with Zipp 404's) triathlon at £4,500, and one really nice mtb new Santa Cruz for £2,500. The most I would spend on a frame is £2,650 for a new Prince, and that is because its a recent product and R and D costs have to be met. II doubt this retail price will remain and I expect it to drop below £2,000 by this time next year. However if I was a cat 1 racer . . . I'd choose a Museeuw and fck the cost.
