Was going to be hitting the track on my way, but the forecast doesn't look promising, so I'll be there earlyish.

my highlight was being overtaken by some dude on a planetX full carbon tri bike about 15 miles in, only to catch him up about 5miles later on the first climb. i didn't see him again until the end (when he finished about an hour after me!). i bet my bike cost 10% what his did. :)

Got to be one of the best feelings you can have on a bike :)

was in Swindon over the weekend for the white horse challenge.
whitehorsechallenge route/times here. note these aren't my data. I did the route a little quicker than that seen above, elapsed time of 6:17, estimated riding time of approx 5:50.
pretty sure i was the only one on a fixed wheel. 74 gear inches (48/17) was a bit steep, one of the climbs was signposted at 17% grade!
The route was 90 miles, feeder ride from Swindon was c. 10miles, making yesteday my first century, fixed or otherwise. chuffed with the result.

Really sorry to hear about this, hope you recover soon. Saw a similar thing nearly happen last night - except the car just crashed into the barrier and the cyclist rode off, which is a better way round.

Many thanks to Al for organizing this. Was inducted (as a 'one off', worth going on Saturdays if you haven't already been), and enjoyed plenty of laps. Absolutely fantastic fun, would recommend it to everyone. Makes you realise how much stamina some of these guys have.

The weather forecast isn't looking encouraging. Would you be able to confirm whether or not this is taking place later on in the day please, al?

Did anyone manage to work out what happened to George Hincapie? All I saw was him getting caught up in the team car traffic trying to chase down the Peloton.

Great ride all, Just got home, glad we took the train and missed the rain. Good pace, no mechanicals, just two punctures, couldn't have been much better. Roll on the next one...

It's more that I just don't want to get absolutely destroyed by you by the first bend. Might be nice to ride with you to the top of the first hill, at least...
