Interesting one. To change the path of the discussion slightly again: there's a bike locked outside my flat which hasn't moved in two months. I've left a note on it with my number saying "This looks like it has been abandoned, give me a ring if you'd like me to take it off your hands".
If the note or bike haven't moved in another month I'm going to be angle grinding it to better use.
But I've been thinking about when to do it, and what I'd say to anyone who challenged me. In a way, I'd like to get the council to do it then give me the bike, but I just can't see that happening. Sunday mornings seem like a good bet, but the neighbours might be annoyed at the noise. A rainy day might be better as there would be fewer people on the street to interfere.

I'd always say Sidis if you can stretch to the cost of them. Think http://www.chainreactioncycles.com is the best place to get them currently. Remember to get one size up from your normal shoe size.

Best kind of rain that.. not having a brake cable makes my brake very effective.
I'm on the Rubble now.. with the womp womp womp womp of a bent rear wheel thanks to missing spoke. Gonna ride it to destruction and get new wheel.See if you can set the best time on the Tour of Wessex "Bike with missing spoke" category.

I saw that today and gawped for a bit before moving on.
Also, last week, I saw an old, slightly battered one of these outside UCL:

AND, t'other day chatted to a nice guy on a Condor Classico Pista sporting these:

A rare week indeed.
Two great spots. Those campy delta brakes are very special. I tried to buy some once, but was well priced out. :(
Did the Paris bike look more or less like the photo?

I came in 33rd out of 390 finishers.
Time of 4:43:45. Fastest time was 4:26:16.
I was expecting torrential rain so rode the Ribble.
Woulda knock years off that time with the S-Works. :)
Ended up with awesome weather and the ride itself was fantastic.
Highly recommenddededededed!Blimey, very well done. Who cares about the s-works, that's a top time for a bike with a fucked derailleur.

Yeah, could be a riot. 12th-13th July - I'm free. Looks like 50 laps of a 30 minute circuit. 2 riders max on the course at any one time.
Note the second rule:
Each team to have a Team manager. (could be the vital element in the winning or losing)
Circuit images look very pretty.
