Am thinking of doing a few of the local 'cross races ( wessex league , oxford way ) on my Specialized Singlecross .
Anybody raced on one of these or similar ? Would appreciate any advice on gearing etc .
Completely stock at mo running 42x18 .
Have no illusions of podium greatness , just want to have some fun and try and improve as the season progresses .

Ooh, . Lot less. I paid £ 180 plus £ 75 for the headset bearings. The first shop wanted to charge me £ 400 for the fork alone! I bought my frameset without fork as nos for £ 200 . Is different to yours in that is gloss black and is a system six 3. There is something to be said about American built frames tho, the last thing I want to see on a System Six is a fuckinfg sticker on the down tube that says " made in Taiwan " I have 2 other American ' dales that I have had for years and are as good as the day they left pennsylvania!

Been following this thread with admiration. Dammit sweetest build I have seen for a long time. Very jealous, I have a late system six myself built from a frameset with ultegra and 105 mix and fulcrum 3 wheels. And that is far too good for the likes of me, giro winning frameset and all. One question, I am running like you the hi mod fork from the Super Six, did you have any problems ordering from cannondale and if not indiscreet how much did you pay for the fork. My local dealer made it quite difficult and wanted go charge me the earth. In the end the dealers sister shop got me one as a " crash replacement " for a lot less.

just seen this thread ..... absolutely fascinating , I've got a 2008 system six 3 built from from nos frame , with a super six hi mod fork and ultegra with fulcrum 3s , and it's fucking fantastic so Lord knows how good that must be !

if anybody interested I have a redline monocog 29er frame and fork for sale . 19inch, brand spanking , well never built anyway , sort of dusty brown . don't have a photo and is currently sat at my mates bike shop , though if you search my previous posts on main forum I think there is a pic somewhere .

Best bike shop in Oxford is Summertown cycles by a long stretch . Went out of their way / beyond call of duty when helping me with my Cannondale system six build . No attitude just very very helpful .
Best bike shop in Oxfordshire is Rides On Air in Wallingford . Great knowledgable crew Dan is a great mechanic and the owner Lee is Top Bloke .
And I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Beeline cycles " customer service " air of aloofness , whilst they decide if you are worthy of actually taking their valuable time . One of the staff in the new road bike shop actually commented it was unusual for someone to be spoken to almost straight away , and recognized the problem in the older store .

I'm from Abingdon but have been riding into Oxford a lot recently on my days off ( riding a langster not otp tho ) to grag a coffee @Zappi's and then generally hoof about a bit .

Very pretty lornholio , love the colour very stealth . Ive got two one an 09 is totally stock use as a hack and an 07 , built from a frame set ( have removed the tri bars as kept falling off !! )

I know langsters are much maligned for good or bad reasons , but do you have one ? pictures please . I for one got into this forum as a result of buying a frameset and building ( pictures are already posted ) and it fit my criteria would love a vintage Italian track frame but love the modern geometry of the Spesh . pictures of trick and or rat bikes appreciated .

How can you be completely open objective and open minded to something when it is obviously the wrong size ?
I am no mechanic ( complete technophobe ) but I would know I couldnt judgge something without riding something that fitted me . and cannondale have obviously changed over the years as my 10 year old cannondale mountain bike is as stiff as you like .

Ive got something called a monocog , chromoly s/s 29er made by Redline . Dont think you can get them in the UK .Still in its box while I decide how to build / if I can currently afford to .

edscoble / i think you have hit the nail why people on here dont love langsters . no it is not a track bike , certainly the 07 and 08 had much more road based geometry 06 was different apparantly , if you look on spesh website and compare with the allez range geometry is almost identical . but i bought mine because i wanted a s/s road bike and it fits that very well . lightweight and great handling out of the box . now got two one of which has had money thrown at it and weighs nothing .keeping that for time trials next year with a big gear , second is stock and is great for training and to the shops etc .ride what you like as long as its fixed or s/s !!

upgrades included , not cheap either.better bikes otp . but not ridden one so cant say .

my fsa veros are running fine , but are about to be upgraded . not ridden one but the hanzo from pearsons looks like an expensive and heavy piece of shit .

love both those bowery, got a giant OCR and always liked giant frames .
How come the bowery seems to be immune from langster style piss taking ?
