It is really lovely, and in stunning condition for age.
The info you provided backs up exactly what I discovered.
Watchfinder have 2 16800 not triple zero and neither have papers and both are sitting at £9k. which is a premium over the even very slightly later replacement.
I am torn now about sitting on it , but have an Apollo 17 Speedmaster on order and cant really afford that let alone both. -

A 5% drop in value in the seiko is purely hypothetical. Try and sell it.
It will be worth what someone is prepared to pay you for it.
I had a client who wanted to part ex a recently purchased Grand Seiko against an Omega aqua terra day date. I said no as after I asked about nobody would even bid me ANYTHING on it. And I was the third or fourth Omega stockist who had turned him away. -

Sorry but a massive over generalization. I deal with a lot of collectors who certainly don't buy on "Vanity" , but in some cases pay an extraordinary amount of money for something old and almost battered . None of my or any of my counterparts in any of our other showrooms have anybody who collect Seiko .
People don't buy Omega just because it's an Omega, they buy it for what the brand heritage represents. There's a lot of love on here for moonwatch and thats a great deal less flashy than any of the Grand seiko I have seen of late.
As for investment potential, Fucking hell don't make me laugh.
I'm with Senor_Bear on this . -
