I used to have 46 at the front and 16 at the back and it was really hard to brake.
Now I have 46 and 18 and its really easy to brake but it takes much longer to get everywhere; I have to pedal pretty damn fast....

I saw someone at the weekend with a goldfinger on road bars so i was suprised when my dirty harry didn't fit.

i was just wondering if I could get anything other than BMX bars...

I just bought a Diatech Dirty Harry brake lever and it doesn't fit on my bars.
I was going to change the bars anyway to chopped off and flipped drops - sort of short bullhorn type thing....
The problem is, all road handlebars seem to have a diameter of 23.8 and the Dirty Harry's fit a diameter of 22.2

Does anyone know where I can get some bars with a smaller diamater?

Is single speed good on a mountain bike? I hired a bike in the Peak District last weekend and I was constantly changing gears. It was very, very steep though. I suppose if I'l be doing jumps then single speed would be good

I haven't got my own bike yet and really skint at the moment... but I'll be doing my best to save a little to get something to get going with. I guess, I'll put my remaining posessions on ebay.
I'll be well up for coming when I have one and I know at least 3 other girls who want to come if that's cool. They have bikes already but haven't done much yet.
And I'm up for jumping off ramps. As well as doing other jumps. But ramps looks really good fun. Although I will have to start small and build up from there....
