How marvellous to wind someone up so successfully from afar! What power I possess!
To think, all it took was asking a question about bar diamater. Quite incedible!
Also, I am quite plainly NOT ignoring bar diameter, otherwise I wouldn't be posting this question, would I?And of course, the Goldfinger is not the Dirty Harry, that's why they have different names, but they are made by the same company

I just bought a Diatech Dirty Harry brake lever and it doesn't fit on my bars.
I was going to change the bars anyway to chopped off and flipped drops - sort of short bullhorn type thing....
The problem is, all road handlebars seem to have a diameter of 23.8 and the Dirty Harry's fit a diameter of 22.2Does anyone know where I can get some bars with a smaller diamater?

yeah, i did try right clicking. Wierd...
Would love to come tomorrow but I'm going snowboarding for a week. I guess that is why have no money for a bike.
Yeah, maybe you should revive the other thread.
If you're going regularly, and if I can borrow a bike, maybe we could all go in a couple of weeks or so -

Her bike looks nice.
Damn, I really want to go now. I wish I had more money. I think one of my friends might have a bike I could borrow. No good for jumping, but good for a start. They want to wait till the weather improves though...
Might see what they're saying and then maybe we could all go together sometime in the near future -

Is single speed good on a mountain bike? I hired a bike in the Peak District last weekend and I was constantly changing gears. It was very, very steep though. I suppose if I'l be doing jumps then single speed would be good

I'll check out your wife's bike to get an idea of what I might need.
If anyone knows of anyone selling something similar or something that they think might be suitable (I'm 5'7) then could you let me know?
I guess I'm posting on the wrong forum for this... but I haven't got into/don't know anything about mountain bikes yet which is why I started this on here...
Probably get laughed off mountain bike forums! -
Brilliant, that's really helpful.
I haven't got my own bike yet and really skint at the moment... but I'll be doing my best to save a little to get something to get going with. I guess, I'll put my remaining posessions on ebay.
I'll be well up for coming when I have one and I know at least 3 other girls who want to come if that's cool. They have bikes already but haven't done much yet.
And I'm up for jumping off ramps. As well as doing other jumps. But ramps looks really good fun. Although I will have to start small and build up from there.... -
