I've been riding around with my Violet hip pouch for a few months now, best £5O quid I ever spent.
Most of the time when I'm going out all I need is keys, wallet, lock and phone. I hate cycling with stuff in my pockets and taking my bag with me is complete overkill.
Definitely keen for one of the belts when you have the supplies Scott!
^
This - it takes my phone wallet and keys and the lock perfectly. All I need. much more comfy than having stuff in pockets. Now want a fancy BRP belt! -

just completed wh40k space marine, end battle was a nice surprise but not particularly challenging. I think i'm finally reaching the point where 'normal' difficulty in video games no longer provides much of a chalenge. LOVE the ending, really encapsulated the WH40K ethos.
Also those who have played dawn of war may appreciate the final battle sequence.
I thought you got to play through as a chaos marine after completing, doesn't seem to be the case. Tempted to start another play through on hard, but i find it pretty difficult to revisit games.
^ This.
got Broadband connected last night and played my first WH40k multiplayer. I liked it a lot.

Just played the demo of Space Marine too, could actually be quite good, quelle surprise.
It's ok - quite good but quite basic really in term of controls. you basically run around shoot and tap x in combat wildly.
Basically I would wait til it drops to £20 or so then pick it up then. I only bought it as I used to be a warhammer 40k geek and used to play as ultramarines....

I suppose they're not as 'versatile' but it'd be cool to be part of a squad and do actual military style play, rather than wading through enemy after enemy. At the risk of sounding like some basement dwelling, 9 sided dice rolling hermit, If i could ask for anything it'd be to make a game based on the Gaunt's Ghosts novels.
Starship Troopers Game Trailer - YouTube
Possibly one of the worst games I've ever seen.

starship troopers game looks shocking. having said that tyranids and genestealers give me the heebyjeebies

^^ "spess marines"
It looks good, better than previous 40k games. Not sure how long the propsect of new area>kill everything>advance would remain appealing, seems a bit Serious Sam-esque.
Would much rather see a Battlefield style game where you play as Imperial Guard.
only problem is their individual armory is a bit pitiful - lasguns etc. However, their tanks are sweet.
It would be good to see a game based on one of the major stories e.g. Commissar Yarrick and battles for Armegeddon.

There are 5 or so games coming out soon which I am looking to tap into. I own an Xbox 360 and I am looking to buy when they come out the following:
Sep 9: Warhammer 40k: Space Marine
Sep 20: Gears of War 3
Oct 21: Batman Arkham City (cant wait for this)
Oct 28: Battlefield 3
Nov 8: Call of Duty Mod Warfare 3
Nov 15: Assassins Creed revelations (can't wait for this also)I am also interested in formula 1 2011, Elder Scrolls, Forza 4 and a few others.
I am a bit concerned that I might become a bit socially awkward over the next few months as I spend most of my spare time shooting people, Shooting aliens, beating baddies up and climbing buildings.

Through Hyde Park at night is beautiful. Was on my commute for 2 months last winter, and was especially nice with the Fair there. The time we went through it snowed too.
(not quite the Galibier)only thing is roads around hyde park are abit of a mare. I once took my missus down and round hyde park corner. She didn't enjoy that!
so basically towpaths and backstreets are good. What I have enjoyed is short 10-20mins trips to do chores, go to supermarket, drop stuff off or go for cup of tea at friends/family houses. If you make the cycling part of everyday transport then it should hopefully reduce the fear factor.

don't do what i did:
Ride fixed in front, Missus behind on geared, signal to go through lights as they're turning red , see plod, stop suddenly with no warning, she crashes in to my back wheel.
end result = Missus cycling confidence gone and bruising, her new bike scuffed up, me with buckled rear wheel and intense feeling of guilt.

my missus' macbook messed up and I replaced the topcase with a cheap knockoff from Ebay

it works fine now, though it looks like we could have got it for free at Apple from what Posters above say.
Encouraged by my DIY computer skills I tried to replace her ipod touch battery and destroyed it.
