Jimbobbilly(? I think this is what you said your name was apols if I'm wrong) on a very nice green and white Colnago frame this morning on the Embankment - good to chat and ride in with you!
Nice to ride in with you too fella, I nearly jumped out my saddle when you shouted "DO A SKID"! The Colnago is sadly a Fakenago and just painted pretty :-(

regarding the not so often mentioned, but asked for (somewhere in there ^) rigida dp18.
i build them up on my set of commuter/streetrace/play 32h wheel set. i could feel an immediate increase in stiffness and acceleration response over my former wheellset with dam' similar (unkown make though) dimentioned rims but 24h.
i would recommend them for a first build wheelset as they are reasonably light, yet stiff and robust but best of all affordable. as a first build anytime! they are in some web shops from 22quid or so in black and silver with braking surface - without it and in colors from 30 up to 45 me thinks, from shop 14.
my vote, rigidas and you'll get some good wheels at a really competitive price. as for the spokes, it never hurts to go sapim double butted for some extra tension and stiffnes as a result. dt's are just to pricy these days for the same quality, anyway.
cheers for this

Why on earth does anyone repair inner tubes anyway? they are so cheap that it's not worth spending the time to end up with something which isn't as good as a new one.
Ive had 3 punctures in a day once. (1 puncture glass through tyre, 2 with spoke through rim tape) that = aprrox £12-£16 spent on tubes under your system. or it equals very little expenditure under my system.

I don't know about anyone but i find these types of patches the easiest to apply > http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_178445_langId_-1_categoryId_228377
they glue on quickly and are easier to apply than the type in the pic below

I like this idea. Love the bullhorns that I have as they are comfy, Use a goldfinger right hand brake for the front. It's a good set up. But it would be nice to have drops in instances like when going in to a headwind and needing to get low.
Have a feeling that normal drops with just a sort of fake rubber hood would work as described above. Or if you want to go more extreme, cutting a few inches of tubing and welding them onto the top of a set of drops at a slight angle to create the risers.
aesthetically your initial design is quite pleasing though.

using opera mini browser on the Nokia E71.
comments: nice colours and layout
-would be nice to see dates next to posts as noted previously.
-Would be good to see who started a thread and how many posts/pages on thread at the menu stage although I appreciate you may be trying to minimalise things for mobile.
-There doesn't seem to be a button to go to the last page of a thread when you are looking at a thread.
-Using my current browser it is impossible to tell when someone has posted a quote where that quote starts and finishes. The entire post is just a body of text which makes reading threads with quotes or discussions in quite difficult.
-The text starts off being aligned left for the first post or two in a thread, then the rest of the post start being centrally alignedOverall it has made browsing the site more difficult on my phone. Sorry to whinge. :-(
Have been using my mobile to browse LFGSS for 6 months or so and been really enjoying it. is great to read stuff when you are just lounging about or on a train or something, thanks for all your continued efforts in to this great site. -
Action Bikes - Embankment
went in there with a frame, looking for a lockring tool to help remove the fixed cup bottom bracket. They asked what I wanted it for and I said to take off the old BB. Mechanic said he would do it for free no worries and just took it away for a few minutes and came back with my frame free of bb and the now removed BB in a bag. Was really excellent service above and beyond the call of duty which helped me out loads.

I think DJ has been given an endorsable fixed penalty notice of £60 which normally comes with 3 points on the license for jumping a red if you were in a car. I have no idea if this is applicable to a bike.
I have no idea also why some police give out £30 fines for jumping lights and some £60. Seems a bit inconsistent. There is potential that the £30 that is often being given out for jumping lights is in fact the wrong fine but is deemed possibly a fine that is more acceptable to use when doing cycling enforcement cos £30 isn't too painful to pay for something pretty minor and is just an attempt to discourage bad cycling.

I used to get my poutine from a lebanese takeaway in ottawa next to my apartment when i was a student there. Not sure he used curds, thought it was just grated cheddar he used on pizzas. Think I will be buying a load of cooked chips and whacking a load of thick gravy all over them chucking some grated cheese on top and whacking in a preheated oven for 5 mins or so.
glorious winter food
