scott not scot I'm guessing you're referring to jeff jones 'H' bars....or one of the many copies....titec now do an aluminium version of it liscensed from jeffs design....but it has a built in rise.....or the on one 'mary' bars aren't a bad attempt at a similar design.
Personally i fookin love jones bars...:)H-Bars are the best bars I have ever ridden (for off road). Best bike related item I have bought in the last 10 years... Love them. Gone back to riding rigid with them!

I run a discs on my Surly 1x1 which has horizontal rear mounting drop outs. It is a little bit of a faff in terms of every time I take the wheel out I have to slacken off the nuts on the disc caliper and to moveit out of the way of the disc as the wheel is pulled out, but this is only seconds of work each time. I first went with a Surly Tug Nut chain tug as I was told I would only need one, but I had a few problems when I grabbed a big handful of brake I tended to pull the wheel out of alignment. Since then I have added another chain tug on the other side to guard against this. It is by no means ideal, but it works and is'nt really to much of an issue.

Skullhead I know what your talking about and I agree, I worked for several years in the bike trade and you do take on a snobby/grumpy persona.
Mainly due to all the
"I need a tire for my bike"
What sort of bike is that sir?
" A blue one!"
Yeah thanks that really helps...
Maybe we should start a dumpest bike related question you have ever been asked thread...I will go see grumpy Mrs Howe this afternoon and report back tomorrow. fc9k do you ever go to that little shop of Burleigh street near the Grafton? Noticed the other day they have a large ebay shop of fairly nice bits lots of Brooks saddles and a like... Havent been in there in years, although last time I did they had a nice line in Coppi frames.

fc9k Check out Howes on regent street mate, I got my MKS chrome clips from there for £7 or so. They also have leather christophe straps for £4, but they snap so get the nylon ones (£4 from howes, £2 from ben haywards).
Cheers. Had given Howes a miss as Mike and his wife are so F'ing grumpy all the time. I will have a wonder down there later....
Skullhead Christophe leather straps, MKS clips, about £20 the lot. sjscycles.co.uk. Easy peasy.
I will have a look now. Think I'm being a bit shit with my searching...
Cheers

Ok should be obvious, but its proving difficult as I am up in Cambridge and none of the shops seem to have any.
Looked online and I cant be bothered to wait for auctions to end on the bay.
Just want some fairly cheap chrome (large for my clown feet) clips and some leather straps that are'nt going to cost a fortune. Cant really be arsed to pay £20 for straps..
Any one got any ideas or any they want to sell me...
Cheers

I had my frame sprayed at Bob Jackson in the Ice Blue and it looks awesome. My two house mates have also had their frames sprayed there in the Mint Green that looks so much better than in the picture on the web site, The other is inm the lime green that looks a bit darker than the website. If I was getting my bike sprayed again I would go for orange with matching rims...

BoBoB They are beautiful and although i adore italian cars (my last car below) i sold mine as never use it!
When i was occasionally using a car I had a smart car which was so much fun and less harmful with its ickle 500cc engine :)

Remind me Toby how many of the cyclinders worked??? Such a beauty. Was always very jealous of your Alpha at work. Shits all over my old beater...

I'd recommend the Camelbak Octane over the HAWG. It expands for more volume, I have the larger of the two the 14+ (I think its called) and its brilliant, not strictley a cycling Camelbak but better than most of the offerings of the size. Loads of features and nice long starps for my muscley chest/moobs... Search around on the net and you can pick them up at a good price.
