I have an Evolution. I’d offer it to you for cheap but it’s not the small one. It’s a bit of a beast. If you do get one, check for square.

I have a big old Evolution mitre saw that I’m looking to shift to make some space. Not as good as the Bosch but I would let you have it for a ton, including the table for it.

Would you go for the 60 if you were buying now? I saw one on a worksite and was awe-struck.

It’s not much fun painting over filth. Surprising how much filth comes off, particularly in London. I painted the balustrade round our deck the other day and the water was nearly black after a sugar soap wash.

Mostly ok for DIY use but there is some variability. The Dremel type rotary tool didn’t survive second contact with reality for me and went in the bin. The random orbit sander I bought was actually an orbital sander, which was disappointing.

They do them in Leyland if you’re prepared to look hard enough. Obviously I went to a Leyland in London so it might just be local stock! I’ve also invested in a 3mm stainless steel strip, drilled by me, to reinforce the door edge. The main thing to look out for on a London bar is that it is the right depth to secure the enclosure.

How will you ruin the shape? Chemical or heat, some scraping and sanding will be involved.

It’s getting the metal strips off in the first place that Has put me off. Getting a sharp and flexible scraper behind it? Multitool is probably overkill. I have all the solvents for dealing with the residue. Those Big Wipes seem to do a good job on most things.

If it’s self adhesive I’d be interested to hear people’s recommendations for removing it. I have something similar I have been putting off dealing with.
