Training was great on Saturday I really enjoyed it, very good mixture between working hard and learning bike control in the lumps and bumps exercise. Thanks to all the coaches you did an excellent job.
That was by far the longest continous riding I've done on the track and I started to get a feeling I had a razor blade down my shorts, saddles getting changed to a rolls as soon as I can get mine back from a mate who borrowed it.

You tried these?
Thats what I use and get on with them fine, the float still has a bit of spring in it so they still try to centre your foot which if there set up right its fine. If I was getting road pedals for the first time now I would maybe get speedplay as they have totally free float and a a really low stack height which I kind of care about as I'm really tall.
Not tried any other road pedals so not much to compare them to apart from shimano mtb pedals, well and onza ones but we don't want to remember them!
Having road pedals and shoes is great though especially on long rides when the support and stiffer soles are a lot comfier, not so good when you put them on and realize you've forgotten something upstairs so need to take them off to get up the stairs.

Peening is a word, its to work harden a metal by compressing it. I suppose the Campag tool does do this but they are compressing it so the the end flares a bit like a rivet and to reduce its length so it fits in the drive train.
I've now decided to go standard chainset and get a spare miche 29 tooth cassette for when I'm doing hilly uk stuff. If I'm heading back to the alps or something mountainous I'll stick my compact sram cranks on as there 180mm which also helps with the climbs. New road bike is almost finished in my head!

Apparently the ice tools one doesn't work but park are releasing one that does the peening and you can use any 10 speed chain tool for the rest of it.I've got the 11 speed campag tool so if anyone wants to use it they can come round mine and use it if they want, stay in South London.
I'm getting a new groupset soon, having massive dilemas of compact over standard and chorus over record, can't make up my mind.
Also my dad just got an athena groupset from shiny bikes, everything arrived but the cranks which they said were too follow. He needed them as I was coming up to fit it all together so he called them up and they said they couldn't get them in time but he could upgrade to the carbon cranks and they gave him a tenner off, so not too bad there. Heard another story though of someone buying an Ultegra some number groupset, a different number ultegra groupset arrived so they phoned up and the guy said they were the same thing, which they weren't.

Will you definatly be able to use this on the track? I wouldn't be surprised if there not allowed yet or no ones thought about it, although I really don't have a clue.
It also sounds like theres limited gear selections mainly because you need a certain size of rear cog that cannot be too small so getting a gear high enough for the track might be impossible.
I'd seen a photo of the fixie inc system before but never knew who was making it. I really like it, very neat and I imagine slightly easier to retro fit to frames than the S&S one. Is there any belt drive frames yet that run on a 120mm rear hub? If so I can't see any reason why most frames couldn't be altered to use one but it will probably need a new chainstay as well the coupling put in.

I've finally started the last few weeks to get things going. Just trying to work on my base fitness now doing some steady stuff on the turbo and getting outside when theres no ice about. Hopefully get out on my first chaingang tommorow night. Been doing a bit of running and swimming too so I'm beginning to feel I've got a bit of fitness back but need to shift some weight which I haven't been to successful at yet.

I would love to do something like that. They seem to be doing pretty technical riding with an extra cycle, I didn't think they would handle that too well but they seem fine.
Might try a small off road coast to coast in Scotland sometime this year staying in bothies and bivying. I did a 1 nighter in the outer hebrides a few years ago with some mates, I had a great time but I'm not sure about the rest of them. The weather was grim and there was loads of really hard climbing. Only me and another did the second day everyone else bailed and cycled back on roads, the second day was far easier better cycling too.

Has anyone tried a Selle SMP? Like this:

I'm sure I heard amazing stuff about them somewhere (can't remember though) and the person said they were unbelevably comfy but expensive. The cheapest one is £160 though so not sure if I'm prepared to try it at that price.

I'm doing the Windsor Olympic and Thames Turbo Sprint on the 3rd of May as a sort of warm up. Never done one before so not really sure what to expect.
I'm south so will be up for some training if you want, I've been going out running with the Clapham Chasers (Terrible name and kit) and hopefully going to start swimming with them soon, seems like a good club with alot going on.
2 projects on the go, Storck Road Bike and Cross bike made by me! Sorry for the crap photos
Now to start groupset purchasing, got pretty much everything else for the road bike but nothing for the cross bike, can't decide on what wheels to go for.
