^^ Congratulations on your first century.
Feels good doesn't it?
My ride was shit today. Set off for what I was hoping to be a fast (for me) and flat 100km to Cambridge only to lose front wheel turning off the A10. Not sure whether it was an oil patch or a pothole but I was leaning so once it went that was it. Front of bike just went out from under followed by rear. Didn't somebody once say something about not leaning?
Bruised elbow aside I'm fine but bent hoods round and derailleur took a fair whack. Tried roadside repairs with no luck so limped home stuck on granny chainring. Cutting my losses by baking some bread and then going to the pub to get drunk.
Thanks, Henge. It does feel good.
Always wondered what the granny ring was for, now I know...
Hope you get your bike sorted.

180km on the Pro VO2 Longest Day sportive in the Chilterns last Sunday. 8 hrs 13 mins. No punctures. This was my first century ride. Might well pick a flatter one next time. Here's the route below. Incidentally, I raised £1,505 for our school swimming pool repairs. Here is my giving page:

Thanks jaqui for the warning. Since I'm not registered I'll bring my own muscles :)
You in gabes, Shannonball, tester?Alas, I'm doing the VO2 Pro Max Longest Day, 111 miles in the Chilterns, that day. Signed up for it and started a sponsorship thing just before HOTN was announced.
So, no. And I am gutted. Will you, Skyguy?

But keep in mind throughout the tour they heavily relied on the kindness of strangers for shelter and food, so it wasn't quite as self-sufficient as other types of touring.

Looks like the esteemed Leeds frame makers have a new frameset, the Vulcan, which is available for fixed or geared set ups. It has handcut lugwork and curly seat and chain stays.

£825
Pricey, but they are chucking in more or less any paint upgrade you want.

Available again, owing to failure to collect.
