It's a gps tracker for your cat. When the cat is out of the house it sends back GPS co-ords every 10 minutes (or bigger intervals if you want) When it gets back to the house - it recognises it's home when it can connect to your home wifi - it then goes to sleep until the cat goes out of range again.
You can replay where the cat has been over any period of time and also set a boundary, if the cat goes past the boundary line, you get emailed.
Here's a short vid I made of yesterday afternoon's traces.

Yeh I'm an epic fail with this, It's my best mates 40th birthday the same night and I can't miss it!
I've also not got as many miles in my legs as I'd like because of work and other shit - so yes I'm going to have to bail on my own ride, please feel free to do it anyway - I'm going to attempt it next year.
Sorry guys :( -

@lemonjelly where are you based in London, I would recommend heading to an independent bike shop like Brixton Cycles or Condor(if in central london) for some advice.
Also what's wrong with another Plug? Awesome bikes. Plus you can save a bit of money and spend the rest of the £500 on some accessories and maybe a decent lock..Out of the ones you've listed, I would say the Cinelli looks the most decent.

I have a fondness for the man, mainly because my late Grandad loved him and used to make me mixtapes of him and 'Klaus Wunderlich and his amazing organ' which I loved when I was 7.
I rang up my mum when I heard the news, as she was the only one who I knew would appreciate the magnitude of the news.. She said she was going to go and listen to his ABBA megamix as a tribute. -

I'd also add a +1 for Mission, although I'm a rucksack person these days - I find it doesn't interfere with boobs and its nicer on my back, I used a chrome messenger for years and was happy with it. Bear in mind that if you get her a big bag she will fill it with crap.
The thing I also like about the mission rucksacks is that they are expandable so if you dont need to carry loads of crap they pack down small and are not heavy when empty, which I found the chrome rucksacks were. -
