As the comments state, if you don't have cruise control the replacement badge is considerably cheaper as it doesn't have to be made in a way to let the radar magic through.
Buying parts is always like this. I remember 20+ years ago a motorbike magazine priced up a £6k bike that was £50k+ if you ordered all of the parts individually.
The cost of having cheap cars is expensive replacement parts. If you want cheaper parts the base car price will have to go up a lot.
(I'm for the cars in the smelter option.)

4th year (at least) in a row that I won't be riding it.
2024: Pulled hamstring in March has destroyed any chance of decent training
2023: Tore my MCL a week or so before
2022: Some family thing came up
2021: Something elseNot selling my entry because (a) you shouldn't and (b) I just need Ride 100 to finish the London Classics thing and someone else completing it will mess that up.
Given that I was getting emails about there still being spaces available just a couple of weeks ago I think I may not rush to sign up for 2025, but then I know if I do that I'll be in perfect fitness and health and then find out it is sold out.

Yeah, that page looks woefully out of date. Ah, it does say it is incomplete and asks for people to add missing items.

Potential back to back promotions into football’s top tier is proper 1980s stuff.
There's a Wikipedia page for everything: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_association_football_clubs_with_multiple_consecutive_promotions_or_relegations

Two 40 minute league games back to back (so there was a ~5 minute half time). The team after us (who we often borrow players from to make up the numbers) needed a favour returned. My other weekly game is a mates game that's 60 minutes (well, 50 minutes as at least two of the twats are late to every single game).
Physio appointment booked for 15th May (although I may get bumped earlier if there's a cancellation). I'm not in a rush as I'll be having at least 3 weeks off football. Time to take the pull buoy to the pool though and get swim fit again.

If your warm down is 4 pints
What kind of half-arsed warm down is that?
Yeah, I'm just more annoyed that I thought I'd done enough to recover from it first time, be able to play for 1h20 and then rip it apart in a supposedly easier game.
Failing to recover twice is my limit for this kind of thing, so it's time to hit up the physio via Bupa.

Hamstring went again last night. Getting a physio on the case this time as I can't shake it on my own.
19-MAR-2024 Pulled hamstring playing 5-a-side football sprinting for the ball. Rested, did stretches, iced it, after a couple of weeks tested it out with some faster walking and slow running. All seemed ok.
09-APR-2024 Played 5-a-side for 1h20 with no problems. Thought it was all fine now.
11-APR-2024 Playing 5-a-side again, felt the same hamstring go again 25 minutes into the game. Rested, did stretches, iced etc, took it gently, tried out a gentle run and it seemed ok.
30-APR-2024 Playing 5-a-side, felt it start to go 10 minutes into a game.
First time I'd say it was an 8/10 on an arbitrary scale. When I played again afterwards I was very wary and so I stopped as soon as I felt something go, so only a 5/10 (compared to the original 8/10). Last night I managed to stop at an earlier sign (3/10) so hopefully I'm not ripping it to pieces.
Will hopefully get to the see the magic guy at my local physio and he can get to play with his ultrasound machine.

Yeah, mostly that.
Last time we had a cleaner it was for 3 hours once a week for a 3 bed flat. Could be done in 2 hours but the extra hour was to do a deeper clean on each of the rooms in rotation.
I miss it because we were just more likely to keep our place in order to avoid the "pre-clean before the cleaner comes" panic.
We stopped it last time both of us weren't working full time (hard to justify otherwise) and then Covid/WFH meant we've never restarted. We've tried to find a cleaner a few times since but all of the ones recommended to us (from neighbours/friends) already have enough work on the days they are in the area.

The frozen sausages equivalent is one or more of:
- Swim past them and accidentally rip their goggles off with a well aimed catch/pull
- Swim over them, especially coming up to a turn
- Swim into them repeatedly and either say nothing or a very nonchalant "oh hai"
- Stopping in front of them mid length
- Do intervals overtaking them at breakneck speed and then cutting in front and swimming even slower than they are going
- etc
- Swim past them and accidentally rip their goggles off with a well aimed catch/pull

Can't wait for cricket - standing in the sun and cancellation if raining.
And bonus is that we can get to all of her cricket fixtures by public transport.
Some of her football fixtures have been barely accessible by car. Last week was against Churt who play at Haslemere Community Rugby Club which is 40 miles away from SW15 and only just inside the Surrey county border.
Some of her cricket training is still miles away though. Good news is that her secondary school sports hall is getting cricket nets and is being added to the Surrey State School Sixth Form programme from next year.

I dunno. As a pretty liberal person I'm still in two minds.
My daughter was born in 2009 so she'll never be able to legally buy stuff herself. Right now she couldn't think of anything worse than smoking/vaping (given that she's so sporty) and isn't interested in it if any of her mates offer it to her.
Then again, I was massively sporty at that age and it all fell apart when I went to uni. I smoked pretty heavily all the way from 18-30.
It's hugely personal but looking back there's a massive amount of stuff in my life I regret doing and wish I could magically change, but if I was only able to pick one thing it would be that I wished I never started smoking.
It was worthy of appearing twice.
