Saturday 29th March
Bicycle Art Exhibition
Opening 10am-6pm.. Urbis Manchester http://www.urbis.org.uk

Noon-3pm Unicycling demo, interactive bike art exhibits etc.

3pm Urbis Gardens: Bicycle Treasure Hunt
Bicycle Treasure Hunt- a list of tasks with an assigned number of points
for each one. How many points can you get in 3 hours? Bring digital
camera/camera phone, bag, pen, paper, oh and a bike.

Sunday 30th March
Bicycle Welding Workshop
all day to build bikes for the Bicycle Art Parade

Wednesday 2nd April
Bicycle Film Night
7pm at The Dancehouse Theatre Featuring Klunkerz, Kiss Bike Kiss, I Bike
MCR Film, NYC Videozine, Bike Theif . Tickets on sale soon.

Friday 4th April
Midnight Ride to Formby
Sunrise swim. Meet at The Urbis Gardens at Midnight to ride. Bring good
lights, food, towel, swimming stuff, warm clothes, bike etc.
It's about 40 miles and as its a night ride we'll take to the road which
we should have more or less to ourselves. A few stop offs for some light
refreshment is likely. Click here for the route we'll take.

Saturday 5th April
Bicycle Polo class
The MCR Dropouts bicycle polo team will teach you how to play the sport
and help you get a team together for the tournament.

Sunday 6th April
Ladies Day
Clitical Mass Ladies Bike ride to Reclaim the roads and feel confident by
riding together (and to socialise!)...with a talk about the history of
cycling and women and a ladies only bike maintenance class.

Friday 11th April
Hell Of the North West III
A fast ride around our city. Get to the checkpoints get back.

Alley Kitten Race- As above but on kids bikes!

Followed by party at The Sandbar, everyone welcome (whether participating
in the alley cat/kitten or not). With DJs and a chance to hang out/
socialise with MCR bike community.

Saturday 12th April
2pm Bicycle Art Parade
afterwards an obstacle course race to be ridden on the crazy bikes.

Sunday 13th April
Beer Ride
Meet at Noon at Urbis for a ride into the peaks with a few stops at some
nice country pubs.

Saturday 19th April
2pm outside The Sandbar: Yo Fixie III
An event for fixed gear riders. With comps inc: Track Stand, Track Skid,
Sprint and more.

The Sandbar have very kindly agreed to putting on an amazing "street
party" type thing at the back of the bar, with a dj and outdoor bar,
during the Yo Fixie event so even if you haven't got a fixed wheel bike
you can come down and watch the others and socialise with other bike
lovers.

Sunday 20th April
Bicycle Polo Tournament
1pm Platt Fields Park
Teams from around the UK compete to win the I Bike MCR Polo Tournament

Friday 25th April
Critical Mass Bike ride
6pm Central Library

Followed by End of I Bike MCR Festival Party

8pm - 4am Venue TBC

AND the Rollapaluza guys roll up to put on a Roller Race!!!

Roller Race- The final heats will be amazing short races after competitors
have set their qualifying times. "It’s a drama – the gritting of teeth and

We are starting to take registration now, so if you want to participate in
any of the events please get in touch..or if you want to help out at them.

We are trying to make all of the events free of charge, to make them as
accessible as possible, by applying for funding to cover costs and by
asking people to sponsor the prizes yet a small charge to cover costs may
be applied if funding doesn't come through.

we (the dropouts and the spokes) had an ace ace ace time and thank you so much for sorting out this ace tournament. i want to invite everyone to manchester for the i bike mcr festival in april where we’ll be having a polo tournament…will post a reminder nearer the time.

hi sorry its all changed.

now we have 4 spokes girls and 2 polo boys needing a place to stay. we dont mind floors, sofas, whatever and we dont mind being split up aslong as we can be kinda close. and we still have a big van to park. if you think you can help please let me know. sorry it keeps changing. we should arrive at around 2pm on saturday and are leaving sunday evening so would just need a place to crash on sat night

single speed with one brake sounds weird.go fixed!i always feel safer on my fixie rather than on my other bikes because the brakes are just some little bit of wire whereas on my fixie its the muscles of my legs that will stop me- much bigger, more responsive, more predictable than a thin bit of wire. but i do ride with a front brake at the moment (for those just in case times). i like going down hills on my fixie its nice the way you can totally relax your legs and the pedals move them up and down for you, its kinda relaxing like a massage.

SMEEAR there is a couple o beds here, if a few of you wanna share, theres some floor-space as well.

that'd be ace..you playing polo on the sunday too? you could show us where it is if yep???cheeky..but...van space??

hi, im from the spokes bicycle dance troupe and we're performing on the sunday of the bicycle film festival at the polo match (me and viv are playing polo too) and i wondered if anyone could offer some sleeping space for 6 bike girls basically. it might be less becasue some of us might only travel up for the sunday but im not sure yet. please get in touch if you can help.

also if you have a place in front of your house to park a large van
