ibob well, on the Holdsworth, I figured my max was 200, went up to 220, got outbid with 1sec to go...
Regretting not going higher already, but it's prob for the best... Mental note: don't go near ebay, temptation lurks...haha, have been burned like that myself already tonight, i think your advice is very wise... but for those who are foolish enough, i discovered what it is that makes people place last second bids with such amazing 10-second accuracy: hammersnipe (i'm sure there are a million equivelants - and sorry if i'm preaching to the converted).

ok, so i updated the first post to include the north london route map and some details about some of the cemeteries (like, which ones we'll actually be able to see). turns out at least a couple of them should be open, according to the websites, so we'll get to poke around a little bit. should be fun! a couple of questions, tho:
- what are peoples opinions about costumes etc - dress up or just wear masks, or nothing at all?
- if someone's able to do a map of the south london extension, i'll add it into the details post, but i don't know that area well enough to do it (norf, born an' bred :)

ibob That holdsworth looks sweet.
Also, is 75 quid BIN cheap for a Bob Jackson? bob jackson
yeah - but i guess the catch is the seller won't post and he's based somewhere in nottinghamshire (as far as i can make out using google maps) - which is quite a mission to get to.

hippy
furious tiles Alex,
Thanks for purchasing a bucket of tar of the internet. The brush you've used on me seems to have done the trick too.
A note of interest mind is not all IBD's* are the same or offer the same quality of work.
So all in all thanks for you undying support of what is still a reasonably small industry making ends meet on relativly small margins.
Love you too.
*I do not work for BLB but another IBD.How does this review of shoddy repair work affect you or your IBD (whatever that is)?
If some shop is cranking out shit work then I want to know about it and I don't give a toss if it puts them out of business or anyone else for that matter.
It should be fairly obvious that my or in this case Alex's life and health are more important than any shops profit margin.
Thanks for the report Alex.
i fully agree with hippy (and alex) here: i wanna know about the bike shops that are gonna screw me over - my money or my life.

d0cA hello to the guy called Tom that i raced up through highbury fields about an hour ago, headed towards the barn... we met at the top when we obstructed some traffic and had a little chat and i asked if you knew lfgss and you said yeah, you'd been following along a bit but hadn't posted. i gave you an lfgss card i picked up earlier in a bike shop but forgot to invite you to come on some of the rides. anyway, hope you'll join in and post, come on a ride (better) etc... you were much stronger than i and i'm sure you'd enjoy it!
rocking! you've contacted me and you're cool. i'm sure we'll meet again soon.. keep riding strong - hey, stronger than me!! you're good :)
EDIT: you're stronger than me already is what i meant!

jono01
d0cA i think the hospital was there before the bike route.
Very true but the new door with the wheelchair access ramp is a new addition and i noticed today that the "cyclists dismount sign has been replaced by a "pedestrians beware of cyclists" sign....so is it a cycle route again? I wonder if in the days before the cycle lane they had a "pedestrians beware of donkeys" sign...? Can this sign be re-applied today for certain cyclists? Or vice versa the other way round pedestrian/cyclist.....bike lanes seem to be ill thought out wherever they may be...bad,bad,bad.
haha - pedestrians beware of donkeys!

onemagicru Is this an open invite? Just joined the site, and thought i might pop in on my way back. I work just round the corner so its good for me.
yep, welcome to anyone, come along and find us! NB, won't just be cyclists, i got a load of friends coming down who are interested in epidemiology as well (and if you're not sure what that is, you'll get the opportunity to find out a bit more, and the history of the area/pub name as well, tonight)
